Story
Amy Wilson has always been an ultimate helper. As a big sister, Girl Scout, faithful reader of teen magazines, personal assistant, sitcom sidekick, and, finally, mother of three, Amy believed it was her destiny to be a people pleaser. She learned to put others first, to do what she was told, to finish what she started, and to look like she had everything under control, even when she very much did not. Along the way, Amy started to wonder why doing it all had been her job.

Didn't want it to end!

Okay, this is from someone who hasn't really cared for Chelsea's earlier work. I don't know what possessed me to buy this one, but I'm so glad I did! Maybe I liked this one because she was more real and raw and vulnerable to the reader then we've ever seen before. Really interesting insights about therapy too. Plus she narrates and she allows herself to sound emotional which was very fitting to the beautiful vulnerability of this book.

Story
In The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, Amy mines her past for stories about her teenage years, her family, relationships, and sex and shares the experiences that have shaped who she is - a woman with the courage to bare her soul to stand up for what she believes in, all while making us laugh. Down to earth and relatable, frank and unapologetic, Amy Schumer is one of us: She relies on her sister for advice, still hangs out with her high school pals, and continues to navigate the ever-changing boundaries in love, work, and life.

I feel fooled by the glowing Audible reviews
Reviewed: 05-10-16
I'm intentionally rating this book harshly. While I wouldn't say I hated it, I absolutely do not agree with the nearly perfect 4.9/5 star review donned by Audible users. While the narrative holds some interest and it appears the author suffered difficulty in his life, it still feels like a long, drawn out Facebook rant with a whiney, poor-me, please-feel-sorry-for-me attitude.

Too long and too ridiculous.
Reviewed: 08-25-14
First of all, the word "Humorous" in the title is a bit of a stretch. There are obvious parts that were trying to inject humor, but it just came off feeling uncomfortable and ridiculous -slap-stick events that are neither funny, nor necessary.
Second of all, the narrator is not great. The main male character is supposed to have a Creole accent, and instead it's just a gruff southern-ish accent. I also had to cringe every time she said "garage."
Lastly, if you're looking for a fun story with some urban fantasy thrown in like I was, you won't find it here. It's just a murder mystery story with characters you love to hate and a main character who can't catch a break.
