Story
For years, the abandoned MacKenzie mansion remained hidden in rural Wisconsin. Rumors and stories of apparitions, odd noises, accidents, and strange deaths in or near the property were enough to convince the townsfolk it was haunted, and they stayed away. Lucas MacKenzie and his brother, Nate, know nothing of this when they inherit the property and decide to bring their families to Wisconsin for a major renovation project with HGTV stardom in mind. As they tear out old fixtures and open shuttered windows, the house begins to reveal secrets of a terrible past.

The racism!

I mean, the author took time and added a few words to show or let the reader know that the terrorist is Syrian. Why is not a European terrorist? Who reviews these manuscripts?

The narrator (he, I’m assuming) was bored to death while reading the story, the cringy dialogue 🤭😂I loved it!

Story
Four brand-new horror novellas all about books, stories, manuscripts—the written word has never had sharper teeth. In The Skin of Her Teeth, a cursed novel drives people to their deaths. A delivery job turns deadly in The Dark Brothers' Last Ride. In This Book Belongs to Olo, a lonely child has dangerous control over an usual pop-up book. A choose-your-own adventure game spirals into an uncanny reality in The Story. Full of creepy suspense, these collected novellas are perfect for fans of Paul Tremblay, Stephen King, and Joe Hill.

The third Story is my favourite! I normally can’t stand kids as the main character in horror but this one is phenomenal.

The voice: Not bad but not great! I like the narrator voice but it’s typical!

Story
In June 1993, a group of young guerilla filmmakers spent four weeks making Horror Movie, a notorious, disturbing, art-house horror flick. The weird part? Only three of the film’s scenes were ever released to the public, but Horror Movie has nevertheless grown a rabid fanbase. Three decades later, Hollywood is pushing for a big budget reboot.

I’m so confused!

I don’t know if the extra activities were accidental or purposeful but I’m finishing it anyway! The only thing I can say is that it takes away the focus from the actual story and it makes it artificial (like you, as a reader, are an outsider because you keep getting reminded by these activities. Also I have ADHD so you imagine the amount of distractions that adds to it.
