Story
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Story
A thousand-year-old cultivator, Drew, is about to ascend to a higher existence. As he begins the process, he finds out he has pissed off one too many demigods. Though he manages to fight off the concerted effort of sect elders and patriarchs...he is slapped away from the higher realms by something. After an instant or an eternity, he awakens on a lower realm! The air is filled with garbage energy, and his emotions of all things are allowing him to control it. For a cultivator that has spent his existence absolutely controlling his thoughts...that won’t do at all.

Started book one 4 days ago. About to start book four. I seriously love this story. I am completely invested in the journey of the MC. He makes mistakes and he feels real.
And the narrator? Yes please! There are a number of novels I am reading that I wish he could narrate for me. 5 stars for being a fantastic narrator!!!!
Thank you!!!

I read a lot of cultivation stories. For others who do: the pace is good and solid. There is an attention to development and the pov of the mc is relatable and provides growth. The mc is NOT op and is clearly adjusting to his new path in life.
This is a good series to use as an introduction to cultivation novels for those who are daunted by the thousands + chapter long translations. Instead of reading, as an audiobook, the longer the run time may be more welcomed than the sun of chapters to read.
I would definitely recommend this series to those I want to introduce to this genre. Besides the novel itself, the pairing with the narrator is great. I am looking forawrd to listening to the rest of the series.
Thank you.

More. I want more novels like this. Please!
I have audiobooks for work, but this?! I started on a Friday and kept listening at home all weekend!! Starting book 3 as soon as I finish this review.
The narrator is FANTASTIC! He is able to get many different tones, pitches, and textures that I am able to easily differentiate between characters speaking. I want to follow the narrator as much as I want to follow the author.
To the author: Thank you!!!! Wonderful work! I am looking forward to continuing the journey you have penned!
