Story
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Story
Alex Green is a young girl in a world much like ours, except for its most seminal event: the Mass Dragoning of 1955, when hundreds of thousands of ordinary wives and mothers sprouted wings, scales, and talons; left a trail of fiery destruction in their path; and took to the skies. Was it their choice? What will become of those left behind? Why did Alex’s beloved aunt Marla transform but her mother did not? Alex doesn’t know. It’s taboo to speak of.

Sigh

Meh! Everything published these days is full of nothing but political agendas. Where have the true storytellers gone? Sigh

Valley girl voice
Reviewed: 04-18-23
It took a lot for me to continue to listen to this content, though good content, the author decided to narrate her own book in her valley girl voice. The valley girl sound to a grown woman’s voice is not only distracting and devaluing of the book’s valid and valuable content but it is also draining to the ears!
Proceed with audio caution if you like I, cannot stand that type of a voice! Maybe just buy the book.

Important info!!
Reviewed: 07-06-22
This is a great book full of outstanding writing information. He has a depth of knowledge and he gives examples of how to write lines. He is fantastic.
HOWEVER, I pray he reads this…I would tell him he should not narrate this himself. He must have allergies or a cold but it was painful to listen to- between the gulping of nasal drip, high static background, and the fingers squeezing the nose voice, it nearly made me stop listening.
Please have a professional read your book! The information is phenomenal but it’s painful to listen due to the things I’ve listed.
Redo the audiobook for future listeners.
Sorry, but it’s true.
