Intolerance is a beautiful thing...when you understand it from God's point of view. There is a spiritual struggle for the hearts and minds of our young people. Cultural tolerance is pervasive in today's world. It seems to show up everywhere - in education, government, society...even within the church.

Story
With the Bible as a guide and heaven as the goal, Oneness Embraced calls God’s people to kingdom-focused unity. It tells us why we don’t have it, what we need to get it, and what it will look like when we do. Weaving his own story into this word to the church, Tony Evans tells of a life spent between two worlds. As a young theologian he straddled black, urban culture and white, mainline evangelicalism. Now, three decades later, he offers seasoned reflections on matters of history, culture, the church, and social justice.

What The Church needs to know

Thank you Dr Evans for writing this book. I wish every church leader around our country would read this book, especially if they are wondering why the church isn’t impacting their communities. My only disappointment was that it wasn’t Dr. Evans reading the book.

Great book

I grew up in Oklahoma and remember all too well Oklahoma history that was taught in school. I am so saddened that the history had been whitewashed and romanticized. I know understand why my great grandfather would never speak about his Native American heritage. Thank you for your research and putting together this book. My Mother and I went for a drive to the area that the setting of this book took place. Such a beautiful place with a heartbreaking past.

Story
Dale Maharidge’s father, like many World War II veterans, never talked about “the good war”. There was just one clue to his dad’s experience as a US Marine - a portrait with a close friend that hung permanently in their home. In The Dead Drink First, Dale, now a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, recounts his 18-year quest to find and repatriate the missing remains of his dad’s buddy, Herman Walter Mulligan, 73 years after he was killed in action.

I really learned a lot about the men of this war. Some of their stories were heartbreaking. Most of us will never fully understand or show our appreciation to the brave men and women of our military.
