I follow the author on social media and have learned so much from her!
I also read and listened to her previous book and enjoyed it. This book is at least as good as that one and offered me a lot of great insights. The reading pace is comfortable and easy to understand and the whole book is calming and insightful. I highly recommend it!

I've been following Dr. Julie Smith on Facebook for well over a year, and find her information to be very timely and helpful. I was delighted to hear that she was writing a book, and it does not disappoint.
It's full of great information, fun to listen to and easy to understand. I like it so much that I bought the audiobook and Kindle version for myself, and plan to get the hard copy for my 14 year old daughter. Just wonderful - highly recommend!!

Story
England, 1943: Home is no longer safe for eight-year-old twins Molly and Jacob. Night after night, wailing bombs and screeching planes skim the rooftops overhead. They cradle each other, shivering in terror, not knowing if they'll live to see dawn. Their mother, Martha, has no choice but to evacuate them to the safety of the countryside. At the train station, Martha bites back tears as she says good-bye to her precious children. Knowing she might never see them again, she gives Jacob a letter, pressing the envelope into his hands and telling him to only read it if they are in danger.

Great story and well read, lousy picture

I loved both the book and the performance.
The only thing that bothered me about the whole thing is the cover illustration. The story is about a little girl with a weak, withered leg and an inability to use her left arm. And then there is the cover illustration of her standing there with two healthy legs ... holding a suitcase in her left hand. REALLY? Didn't the illustrator bother to read the book at all??
