Best Audible Performance I've heard
Reviewed: 01-10-25
Finally! An audio performance where the female is speaking all the female parts and the male is speaking all the male parts and there isn't any dramatic music in the background. Also these specific voice actors did a fantastic job of differentiating and bringing all the characters to life. I want more audio performances like this one.
Also this book itself was delightful! I loved the plot and the build-up for the romance. I'm sure I'll listen to this a second time in the future.

Story
To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters - never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

I loved the story. The narrator was really good for most of the voices. I just didn't like the way she voiced Jace. All the other voices were great though in my opinion.

I have a new goal of retiring in my 40s or 50s now. I am so glad I know the real difference between an asset and a liability now. He gives a lot of good advice on how to get out of "the rat race" so that people can enjoy their lives and have a passive income vs an earned income. The narrator also did a good job.

This book helped me get the boost I needed to setup my Roth IRA and start investing in stocks. It was empowering as well. I love how she refers to people like accountants, etc as "she". It always surprised me when she referred to people in the workforce as "she" and I freaking loved it. It was nice to hear "money talk" from a lady's perspective. I feel like this book really helped me :)

Story
Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.
