Publisher's summary

A cursed goblin sorcerer. The human female he's waited an eternity for. A secret that could tear them apart.

A quaint cottage in a Scottish forest seemed like the perfect place for Kinsley to start anew. But when a tragic accident leaves her isolated and dying, her new life is over before ever beginning.

Until a dark, mysterious being emerges from the night gloom and offers to save her...for a price.

With no other choice but death, she accepts. She awakens to find herself bound to an ancient, powerful goblin who is equally terrifying and intriguing. He's terse, demanding, brooding.

Despite that, Kinsley is drawn to him, captivated by his sinful crimson eyes, craving his every wicked touch.

But what will happen when he discovers the truth? What will happen when he learns that Kinsley cannot fulfill their pact?

What will happen if she lets this goblin claim her heart along with her freedom?

I cannot express enough how perfect the narrators were! Corvin Kings voice was....absolutely perfect and ooooohhhhh so dreamy. The female narrator did an amazing job too. The story had an amazing plot with just the right amount of spice. I really hope this series keeps going!

Really tugged at my heartstrings

Vex and Kinsley are both quite literally prisoners of their circumstances yet it’s when they find each other that they finally become free.

Kinsley is a very strong character, she’s trying to get away from a very traumatizing and devastating past (check the CWs, just in case) to start life anew when she has a very tragic and fatal accident. This is when our broody, moody, cinnamon roll of a goblin comes into her life and offers her a deal in exchange for something she knows she cannot give him. This is related to her traumatizing past and needless to say our girl's in trouble, oops.
Vex, our very swoon worthy MMC, offers her the deal out of his wish to be free of his current circumstances (promise this will make sense once you listen to the audiobook, I’m trying not to spoil it too much) and while he starts out as a complete asshat he’s soon humbled by Kinsley’s incredible strength and wit, as well as his will-o'-the-wisp's companions who manage to put some sense into his royal crankiness.

There are quite a few delicate subjects related to the characters’ pasts, namely abuse and trauma, and Tiffany Roberts was able to tackle them with grace and tact. I also appreciate the fact that a certain subject related to Kinsley was approached with so much care and compassion, which is shown through Vex’s respect towards her. Needless to say this is quite a satisfactory slow burn that eventually becomes a scorcher, they can’t seem to get enough of each other and it’s the sweetest, most romantic thing you’ve ever experienced.

I also appreciate how Tiffany Roberts’ doesn’t hold back on their descriptions, especially when it comes to certain visual elements like environments and the characters’ appearances. I have a very vivid imagination and to me having detailed descriptions boosts my enjoyment and immersion. As for this book, the aesthetics are absolutely amazing!

The narration is a duet performance (so you know this is quality af)! Celia Stone and Corvin King did an incredible job and matched their characters so damn well.
Celia Stone has a sweetness and cheerfulness to her voice that I found matched Kinsley’s optimism and perseverance quite well. Corvin King matched Vex’s broodiness and intensity brilliantly. All in all they complimented each other and their characters in a way that is almost scaringly good.

Oh, and I’d die for Echo, Flare and Shade.

Labyrinth x Howls moving castle? Yes please!!

This book is wonderfully written from the goblin king to the wounded cursed hero! Like my title for this review says it reminds me of and adult version of Labyrinth and Howls moving castle mixed together! If you liked either of those movies you will love this book! This is definitely my new favorite for this author duo!!

Left me Happy & Satisfied

A really great listen, I definitely recommend. Longer than most other stories like this but didn't drag. Great dual perspective narration. Whats The cherry on top of all that? Some pretty damn good sex scenes that's what! Seemed a bit more detailed and dirty than scenes in her other books( although I haven't read them all). This is definitely a comfort read. Not the most amazing gripping edge of your seat blow you away good kinda story. But it is interesting, entertaining, sexy, and fairly original/ unique. It could become a fast favorite. Definitely a candidate for the “listen again” list.

The beautiful way both main characters dealt with their pain and loss.

Some of the mispronounced words from female narration. More background about Vex before evil queen cursed him.

Well worth the money

I had to buy a credit to listen to this book and I am glad I spent it. It’s such a good story with so many emotions. I love the male characters voice, but I really enjoyed the female characters as well.

The heroine: Kinsley - she married her high school sweetheart, and they divorced three years ago. She loves the outdoors and is a content creator on social media. She takes her followers along with her on hikes through the ancient forests all over the year. She is now in the Scottish Highlands, renting a cottage in the ancient forest. On the way to the cottage for the first time, driving in the rain, she sees a supernatural blue light, and the car crashes through the forest hitting obstacles along the way before finally coming to rest against a hard object where she loses consciousness.

The Story: After her accident, Kinsley was impaled with a branch and stuck in the car. She still saw the glowing blue orb she had seen before the crash, and it seemed to be helping her. Though she couldn’t reach her purse where her phone was located. She couldn’t remove the branch, and she knew she was dying. When all the sudden she heard a male voice outside her vehicle, telling her his aid comes at a price.

The Hero: Vex - he is a goblin and a sorcerer and was cursed a long time ago when he made a pact with the fae queen and went back on it because she basically forced him to become her sex slave. Vex is imprisoned in his own realm and unable to move to other realms. A child born of his seed is the only way to get rid of the curse. He comes across a mortal woman dying and immediately knows she is his mate. He tells her he can save her, but she has to agree to be his mate and have his babies.

Kinsley agreed to the terms and passed out. She wakes up the next morning in a strange cottage, in a very green forest, which was odd since it was autumn. She is fully recovered and isn’t sure if her accident was a dream or what exactly is going on. Whomever brought her to the cottage was nowhere to be found. However, when the male comes to her in the night, he tells her that she is bound to him by her oath, and she will fulfill her oath and bear his child. Though he would not do to her what the queen had done to him and take her against her will.

I liked the characters, and the plot was pretty good, though the story kind of dragged on and on in parts. I think there could have been a lot more action, especially if the author would have had the Fae Queen come back for some reason. As it was, there was no real conflict, aside from the fact that both characters had things from their past they were still dealing with.

This audiobook is in dual points of view and narrated in duet narration. Corvin King and Celia Stone do the narration. I really like both of these narrators. Corvin King has a deep sexy voice, and I find I have been searching out books he narrates lately because I like his voice so much. Celia Stone has a soft, feminine voice and sounds youthful. Overall, I really enjoyed the narration.
