Adorable with the right amount of spice!

This was adorable with just the right amount of spice!
Emmy is back in her small town home after an accident as a barrel racer. Back home she’s trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. Then enters Luke Brooks. Her brother’s best friend and the guy that’s been antagonizing her forever. Gave frenemies vibes for sure! He’s also the towns bad boy and bachelor.
”It was hard to breathe, but not because I was panicking. It was because this man had quite literally taken my breath away.”
What I enjoyed most about this book was the small town setting and how Emmy and Luke’s relationship evolved. I loved how protective he was, at first to annoy her, then because he fell for her. Their banter was immaculate and I also loved how they both became each other’s safe space. They were just adorable together and they made so much sense.
“When it came to Emmy, I was playing with fire, but I would happily walk into the flames for her.”
The pace was perfect and I really loved the spice! Luke Brooks has a filthy mouth! So swoon worthy! I loved their character development. Like really did become a better man!
“Luke gave me one of my favorite smiles, the one that brought out the crinkles around his eyes, and I fell into his arms once again. Home sweet home.”
Highly recommend this if you want some small town romance with a filthy mouthed cowboy with great banter and the perfect balance of spice!

Daddy Storm!!

Well well well… *bleep* me to tears because Daddy Storm!!! Cue the squealing, kicking, giggling and BLUSHING! I- I’m swooning- to say the least!
”Put your hands on me whenever you want, darlin’. Because, I sure as hell won’t be keeping mine to myself.”
What. A. Man. He’s grumpy. Broody. Rugged. He keeps to himself. He’s enjoying the peace and quiet. He’s so hot. A snack. A whole treat. The tattoos… Swoon-worthy and oh, the filthy mouth. I’m on my knees, okay? Okay! Do I need to say more? I don’t think so.
This was very forbidden and oh so good! From their first encounter, which was nothing short of iconic and legendary, I was invested. The tension was perfect and was grinding on my nerves. The lust and eventual sneaking around with the possibility of getting caught was thrilling and excellently executed. I LOVED Briar and Storm! Also, “uncle” held the same meaning as Daddy and I was here for it! He’s absolutely Daddy!
”That face might look innocent but you know how to be dirty don’t you?”
I loved the character development and the pace of their story. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series and I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a steamy cowboy romance with deliciously filthy cowboys and curvy luscious FMCs.

Where’s the plot?
Reviewed: 05-28-25
Oh my… this was an unnecessary long book.
Going into this series I had heard a lot of good things. This has been on my tbr forever and I finally was in the mood for this series. Unfortunately, I don’t see the hype. This has been long and dragged out in my opinion. I’m struggling a lot with the pace and I feel like this could have been a trilogy.
With Glow I was excited and hopeful this was gonna be the turning point for me to truly get obsessed and devour this series. I felt like Gleam ended on a very exciting note, but Glow did not deliver on the plot for me. Yes, Slade is fine. A great mmc and a male that we love to see on the page. He’s unapologetically fierce and doesn’t care about consequences when in comes to his love for Auren. He’s got a filthy mouth and we do love that. But plot wise, I need more. The pace is off. I felt like nothing happened until the 85% mark. And that’s too many pages read with bland stuff happening… or lack there of, for me to enjoy the positives of this series like I want to.
The best part of this book for me was the banter and tension between Os and Rissa. I wanted more pov’s from them. There has been different pov’s in this series, and that’s fine. But now I’m staring to find them boring and inconsequential. I zone out with some of the pov’s and I don’t want to do that but there’s nothing holding my attention.
I feel like there has been character development, for both Auren and Slade, which is good. But now I need for the plot and storyline to really get in line. I need there to be a clear goal or a direction because now I honestly don’t see the point of continuing this series if I don’t have an inkling of where this is going.
Glow, as Gleam, ended on a cliffhanger. I was excited about the ending of Gleam, but I can’t say the same of Glow. I’m tired. I just want this to end. I think I need a break before I continue this series. I need something epic to happen, like all the political intrigues turn into an epic war so all the books make sense! Why is there 6 books?
Pretty please let the final two installments have great pace, and an intriguing, compelling and entertaining storyline which captures my attention and keeps it!

Story
After 10 years, I have left the grips of one king only to fall into the hands of another. I have fought the terrifying Red Raid Pirates, endured the murder of those I care about and survived the frozen planes of Orea, only to find myself a prisoner of the army of Fourth Kingdom. Leading the army is Commander Rip, a notorious warrior whose name is whispered in taverns and street corners all over the six kingdoms. But as I get to know him, I realise that the tales of his brutality aren't true. He is something else. He is fae.

I enjoyed Glint way more than I did Gild!
The plot is moving along in a good pace and we were introduced to more characters, which made Auren and the story more interesting. There’s also more world building and less of King Midas which made this more enjoyable, because I hate that guy.
I liked the world building and the introductions to new characters (I know I’ll love these!) and the character growth for Auren- a much needed one. I also felt like I connected more with her and her experience in this book than the first one. I’m also more engaged in the development of the plot and story!
Also, the ending of this book was very interesting and I did not see that coming!
Overall this was better, but I’m still missing something. I don’t know what it is yet. I just know it’s something and I’m very much invested to continue Auren’s story.

Story
This is the story of King Midas. Or that's what we're always told. The Golden King with his palace of riches and me, the girl he turned to gold. Upon the snowy mountains in the Sixth Kingdom of Orea, I'm locked away in Highbell Castle. It's for my safety, I'm told. Away from the dangers of the world below. No one can get in. Apart from him. King Midas rescued me from the streets. He gave me food, shelter and his heart. I promised to love him forever. But when war comes to the kingdom, a deal is struck—and I am at the heart of the bargain. Everything I know starts to change.

This series has been on my tbr-list forever. I’ve been very excited about finally starting this because I’ve heard a lot of good things about the series.
After finishing the first book in this series, I’m a little… underwhelmed. Unfortunately, to me, this didn’t get interesting or wasn’t that exciting, until a little past the halfway mark. The last part of this book was absolutely where things got interesting. The first part was moving along slowly with not really that much happening. This was definitely a book that’s setting up for the rest of the following books. I’m still engaged and curious about this story and will continue with the next installment.
Also, Sail. I cannot leave a review without mentioning him. He was honorable and pure. He made a presence for sure.

Sara can do no wrong! She’s done it again. She has me in a chokehold and under a spell- I absolutely love it!
“That’s the thing, Sage. I don’t want to be a good person anymore.”
This was unbelievably hot. Toe-curling hot. The s*x tapes! *Whispers* the s*x tapes. I mean, I did not expect that. They. Were. So. Hot. The tension building between Adam and Sage was palpable and perfectly done! They had me blushing and squealing, and every scene upped the next one. Like, the scene at the office in church had me screaming! It’s the combination of the forbidden element, the possibility of getting caught, the revenge aspect, the good boy/bad girl scenario and the mouth on this guy(!!!) which just made this book absolutely perfect! It was so much fun and gaspingly hot!
I loved the balance between plot and smut. It’s perfect. I loved the complexity of Adam and Sage. I found myself able to relate to them on so many levels and in different aspects, which made me love this book even more. They were well developed and complicated. I also really liked how their trauma was handled. It felt real and I liked that it was addressed in a way that showed how much healing and finding a new path is not a linear process, but more like a one day at a time.
“It feels as if my shackles are released. I can be as bad as I want.”
I really found the revenge plot intriguing. It was a lot of fun, but also added to the suspense and tension. I also loved the element of opposites attracts which added to the fun. They definitely challenged each other and pushed each other’s boundaries. I loved it!
“Keep it down, Peaches. This is our dirty little secret.”
I’m so excited for The Home Wrecker and Caleb’s story! This was a thrilling start to a new series.

Imagine being snowed in with four hot successful men. P.S. they’ve all played the hero in too many of your naughtiest dreams. Problem is, you work for them, and that makes them off-limits. Except now they’re looking at you like you’re Santa’s cookies. And they definitely want to take a bite. Talk about making you reconsider your life choices. These four are aiming for Santa’s naughty list, and I’m pretty sure I’m getting: Jace, Reed, Alec...and Cole for Christmas.

I absolutely loved this book! This was perfect!
This was one of the hottest books I’ve read. Forced proximity and why choose? Say no more. I adored Samantha! Her references, inner dialogue and thoughts gave me life! She was hilarious and relatable. Absolutely loved that girl! Our guys: Alec, Cole, Jace and Reed, we’re equally hot, and so caring and thoughtful. They were funny and possessive- they were great! Truly, all the good things!
Also, the author’s choice to describe our heroine as vaguely as possible, leaving out as much details about physical traits, was amazing. Leaving it up to the reader to picture the heroine as they wish.

THANK GOD THIS SERIES IS OVER!
To say that this series has been the bane of my existence, is fairly accurate. Not like Anthony Bridgerton kind of bane of my existence, to make that clear.
It’s been a long, way too long, of a journey and I’m relieved it all ended happily. Because after all this, I don’t know what I would have done if this would have ended badly. So that’s good. I can rest easier.
Unfortunately I can’t give this more than two stars. I want to give it three: one for Blue and Lance, one for Tory and Darius and one for this finally being over! But it’s just too many unnecessary povs and dragged on chapters that I just can’t do it. So two stars it is.
Not only was there pointless povs but also storylines and characters that really didn’t do anything to further the story or they were a part of the story but they held no real impact whatsoever on how it all turned out. But that wasn’t new to this book, that’s been the whole series.
So to wrap up: thank god this is over… I got through this series by my sheer stubbornness. Only thing that truly got me through it was Darcy and Lance, and Darius.
Good luck to anyone who embarks on this journey. Wouldn’t really recommend, but you do you!

This book was unexpected- in the best way possible!
This captured me from the first page and held my interest throughout it all. Not only was this a breath of fresh air and such an original story, I mean, two serial killers making it a game to kill other serial killers? I HAD A BLAST! So much humor and banter and tension between Blackbird and Butcher! The spice was top tier!
Some of the situations they found themselves in were absolutely unhinged and crazy, but holy hell it was hilarious! I loved how humor was used to lighten a very dark situation. This was balanced perfectly!
I highly recommend this! Just check the TW before you go in on this adventure!
I listen to the audiobook and loved it!

Well. Where should I start?
I went into this blindly. All I knew was that this had the potential to ruin me. So of course I headed into this blindly- I love not knowing if I’m gonna be in a pile of ruin after finishing a book.
This was a journey, that’s for sure! To me it was a little bit slow at the beginning. I was trying to figure out where this book was going- I knew *something* was going to happen. Then, when I thought I had it figured out, I got slapped in the face by a plot twist. As plot twists go, I thought it was great and exciting! I loved the suspense and thriller elements. Then, again, I got hit with a plot twist. And this was a brutal one. It left me feeling so sad and hurting for Olivia, the FMC. It was heartbreaking and as truths were revealed it was so sad. So I thought that was it, I was sorely mistaken! Another plot twist. I was so confused, I started doubting myself, like I was doing something wrong somehow. But that was also the last time my head got all confused and trying to understand what was going on and what was real or not. Like I said: this was a journey!
I loved the chemistry between Olivia and James. Therese instant attraction, the tension and also the mystery of who James was made it all very exciting and thrilling.
I loved how it ended though! A perfect ending for this thrilling and spicy story!
I’ll leave you with this: inception.
