Story
Randy Lionheart used to be your typical down-on-his-luck fantasy writer--sure of himself but secretly insecure, penniless, prone to rants, and with more ideas than he has good sense. All of this changes once he is mysteriously portaled to the fantasy world of Genera, where he accidently becomes a barbarian. Yes, accidently. It's complicated. After joining forces with a magical yet neurodivergent spellbook named Clovis, Randy finds his stride battling monsters, facing insane challenges, and solving tricky puzzles in an effort to reach the top of a tower.

Full disclosure, I won’t this through a FB lottery and the only requirement was to leave a review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. I developed care for the characters and liked that the ending was not super predictable.

Story
March 28, 1992. The final of the NCAA East Regional, Duke vs. Kentucky. Millions could say they witnessed the greatest game and the greatest shot in the history of college basketball. But it wasn't just the final play - an 80-foot inbounds pass with 2.1 seconds left in overtime - that made Duke's 104-103 victory so memorable. Each player and coach arrived at that point with a unique story to tell. In The Last Great Game, ESPN columnist Gene Wojciechowski turns the game we think we remember into a drama filled with suspense, humor, revelations, and reverberations.

I remember watching the end of this game in particular, so it does pull at my heartstrings. However, it is well written and covers a good piece of history about the players and coaches who have become legends in college basketball.

Story
Almost everything you know about Mickey Mouse is wrong: He wasn’t Disney’s first star; Steamboat Willie wasn’t his first movie; Mickey wasn’t a nice guy - and Walt Disney didn’t invent him. In 1928, two very different best friends invented Mickey Mouse. And the success tore them apart. Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks’ friendship is a story of betrayal, love, war, money, power, tragedy, intrigue, humor, despair, and hope. You’ll love them both - when you don’t want to drop anvils on their heads.

Great information, subpar writing
Reviewed: 11-28-22
Assuming that the information was accurate, this could have been an effective book for readers. However, it is poorly written and not organized well. Even at the beginning of the book, the author claims it isn’t scholarly, so don’t worry about footnotes. This isn’t helpful. We have no way of verifying some stinging information. Also, I felt like the author was not committed to their thesis as there were weird jumps to justify.

Hogan translates standup into podcast
Reviewed: 10-08-21
Ginny Hogan is an amazingly funny standup comedian. Through various social media, she uses hilarious, yet smart takes to communicate with her crowd. In Yes We Mustard, Hogan shows that she can translate her standup into novella form and still have laughter… when efficient.
Even if you are unfamiliar with Hogan’s standup, you should find the humor engaging and sadly accurate. I hope that Hogan continues to offer more to the world with her writing.
Also, the cast did a magnificent job.
