A bit too silly
Reviewed: 11-05-23
Overall it was an enjoyable read. Used this story as a break between other books. Nice diversion. Luke Daniels as always did an amazing job of narrating. I think, I’d be enjoying listening to him even if he was reading a phone book. I found this story to be a bit too simplistic for my taste. I listen to this book while doing various chores and things I don’t usually like doing, so this book was a nice distraction for me. Some stories I like to least to or reread multiple times. I don’t think this will be one of those stories for me.

I appreciate the fact that the Main Character was not some overpowered superhero who was getting all of his problems easily resolved from the get go. Good story and narrator is very pleasant to listen to. I’m getting the next book. No regrets in spending credits.

Story
Following his mission on Cappa, Colonel Carl Butler returns to a mixed reception. To some, he is a do-or-die war hero. To the other half of the galaxy, he’s a pariah. Forced into retirement, he has resettled on Talca Four where he’s now Deputy VP of Corporate Security, protecting a high-tech military company on the corporate battlefield - at least, that’s what the job description says. Really, he’s just there to impress clients and investors. It’s all relatively low risk - until he’s entrusted with new orders.

Well written space military action novel. Good narration too. Enjoyed both books. Will move onto the third one next. If you like Expeditionary Force, you’ll like this one as well. I surely did.

Story
Well, this year, after the Spring Planting season, I’m really gonna relax and put down roots. It’s the slow life for me. Sure, the talking animals and cultivators coming to live with me are a bit weird, but this year everything is gonna be basically normal. There definitely won’t be any Heavenly Tribulations, ancient formations, or cultivator issues to deal with . . .

I can see many potential back stories and parallel stories. Book 2 is definitely not the last one in this series. I’m also curious about the “original owner” of the body protagonist is currently occupying. He is sort of gone but not completely gone… looking forward to the next book.

Story
Sinclair Rutherford is a young Seattle cop with a taste for the finer things. Doing menial tasks and getting hassled by superiors he doesn't respect are definitely not "finer things". Good police work and bad luck lead him to crack a case that changes quickly from a career-making break into a high-profile humiliation when footage of his pursuit of the suspect - wildly inappropriate murder weapon in hand - becomes an Internet sensation.

“Laughing, laughing, laughing”

First of all, I love the narrator. He is great at different voices and accents. Second, the story was rather entertaining and I often found myself laughing to the point of my face hurting. Third, there’s no swearing or sex scenes so I had no problem listening to this book without my earbuds in front of my kids. While the story is not what you’d call a classical mystery and the plot is not complicated I still really enjoyed it and it kept me engaged for the entirety of the book. If you are looking for a light, entertaining story with great narration, this book is for you. I’m really glad I accidentally stumbled on it and gave it a try. I loved it!

It's been some time since I had such a good laugh. I really liked all of the characters and the fact that this story had the right amounts of fun, romance, sex and vulgar language. This is one of the few books/stories I will keep and listen to or read again in on the future.

Story
As a sorority pledge, there are commandments that Katie Vickery must live by. One: Thou shalt not show up for the party without a date. Two: The guy shall be an athlete, preferably an upperclassman. Unfortunately, Katie just broke up with her jerkface football player boyfriend. Even worse, her last encounter with him resulted in utter humiliation. She'd rather hide under the bed than attend a party where he'll be. Yet staying home would mean letting him win.

Sweet and romantic. Made me smile more than a few times. Narrators were pretty good as well. I liked the story and while the plot was not anything unpredictable, I enjoyed the whole his side/her side of the enfolding events. This story is not the kind where you'd go deep into analysis of the characters or themes. This is feel good, entertaining, romantic, sweet and kind of innocent story of a date that ends up....:) well just listen for yourself and see if you like it.

Story
I'm nobody. I'm an orphan. A janitor. A college student. A virgin. And him? He's a god. One of the hottest action stars to ever grace the silver screen, huge and muscular and gorgeous and famous. He could have anyone in the world. Yet, despite the chasm separating my world from his, I find myself in his hotel room, and he's acting like I'm the most beautiful girl in the world. I'm not. He's everything every woman could ever want, and I'm just...me. This is a full length, stand-alone contemporary romance, set in the world of Stripped.

Not too bad

It was an okay story. As expected, events unfolded according to the popular format. My only complaint was about male narrator trying to speak in a female voice. That was rather annoying and at times I had to turn volume down as I felt uncomfortable listening to his voice during those episodes. Wish he had continued in his normal voice instead. That would have been much better.
