I was only reading this due to a recommendation from a TV personality. The technical detail is tedious and boring for long stretches, while the text is also difficult to stomach as the author gushes over his leader. My intent was to learn how he and his leader negotiates, given the current state of the world; however, it was not very informative on details but heavy on process, briefing summaries and his opinion on various personalities that he dealt with. The Author tends to prefer showing how smart and dedicated he is over other adversaries. The answers or perspectives that I was seeking were not explained in enough detail, although he was seemed confident on why he was right and his adversaries were always wrong. In this world, there is rarely a clear right party 90% of the time; hence it is very one sided and the other side's honest perspective would have been helpful. In short, I was hoping to understand the logic and techniques involved in fair negotiating. It appears to have be bullying by the leader that carried the day over negotiations. One observation when compared to the current state of the world is that the the previous slow, measured negotiations were too frustrating for this Leader, hence the current bullying tactics and me first hubris that we are now observing to obtain quick wins. While the Author appears to be a very knowledgeable policy wonk, his work is overshadowed by the aggressiveness of his leader to blackmail adversaries. Thus, unfortunately the book does not shed any light on how to work reasonably with this Leader except by the old adage of just standing up to a bully. Note that I am obviously not an American and tried to hold back on 'loaded' language, but apologize if some leaked through.

Expansive Weaving of Parenormal Ideas

Mr Jorani is definately well read as he complied a detailed theory out of numerous paranormal ideas/sources. Many of us have walked this thought path and it is interesting to see somoen tie it all together. While, I found the weave fascinating, he does not present any new evidence for his theory. It is still based upon hersay from all the typical sources. Nonetheless, it us entertaining and thought provoking if not scary.
One tedious part was the roughly 2 hour explanations of biblical and koran scriptures. Some may like that section but the repeated theme went overboard to make a case for ... quite frankly his confusing explanation of aliens, future humans, Prometheus, the Demiurge or whatever is behind the mystery.

I am writing in July 2024 so I am a bit late to the subject; however his theory is very thought proking. It ties together many of my interests and fascination with the nature of our consciousness. I am likely also one of the few who tried to read Exegesis by P.K. Dick (tough 50+hr audio listen); thus his analysis of PKD was enlightening and helpful. I look forward to further development of his theory.

My one negative thought is his criticism of Whitley Schreiber whose experiences he should not judge without a thorough investigation into that person's life. It is easy for scientists to look down their nose and dismiss what they cannot explain. Ok I will take off my tinfoil hat now. Until this theory can be proven please keep an open mind and respect for others.

As a layperson, this was very enlightening. Mr Hawking was a truly a one in a generation genius. The cosmology discipline is truly a fascinating place. However, it does contain difficult concepts.

Very Informative Prentation for a Layperson

As a layperson, but curious science reader, loop quantim gravity has intrigued me. I never thought I would be able to understand it. The author presents the idea and theory behind it in understandable, albeit basic terms.

While some Reviewers have pointed out some concerns with the theory, the book is intended as a primer to present the subject to a less technical audience, like me. I agree that he presents only one side of the argument, and does not point out flaws, However, he does state that there is more work to do.

It also starts slowly by explaining the philosophy ancient thinkers. I found that be informative in this context.

Last but not least, the narrator is excellent and presents the content in a passionate and clear manner.

I hope to read more from Mr Rovelli.

I love this book. At the start, I thought what a waste as I know all this stuff, but NO I did not. After skimming through basics of Physics (or whatever you specialty) this turned out to be quite rewarding. There are so many branches of science and he seems to provide the basics in most ( if not all) areas.

The only downside is his apparent obsession with proving creationists and intelligent designers wrong. This was not needed as the science speaks for itself and he came across a bit intolerant and condescending. However this is a minor blemish on a very informative piece of work.

i mostly enjoyed this book as the next in the series. This was a difficult concept for me although he made it mostly very understandable for the layman.

The main challenge was the use of written appendices, but when walking the dog or driving they were not available - to me anyway. I guess that is a me problem, but a different way of explaining without visual aids would have helped the audiobbook. He also seems to give up on the Layman explanation near the end when he started quoting formulae for working in various dimensions. This was the key stuff for me to try and put it together so I was left a bit mystified. I guess I need to listen again with the aids.

Nonetheless, it was a fascinating concept and kept me interested for the full book. it was also well narrated.

I was not sure what to expect and this was a nice life history of a great scientist. I never knew he was so prolific and thank the author for bringing this information to our attention. I was hoping for more science narrative, but there is enough and the details of his life help frame his learning environment.

Never Narrate your Own Book

From my title, the narration was horrid as the Aussie tried to do American accents and added sarcastic emphases to the quotes. Also, I find strong Aussie accents hard to understand.

Although, I am critiquing the accent, it was a minor distraction. As far as content goes, the extensive research was laudable and some new thoughts came out on the dark secrets behind the veil that blocks (or maybe doesn't block) this issue. The uncertainty was a main theme of Ross. His well honed journalistic skills made the book worth the listen.

One downside to the book is that anyone familiar with this subject can likely skip the first few chapters as he rehashes very basic UFO lore.

in summary, it was worth the listen for the new ideas, but they take quite a while to materialize.

This was my first book by Mr Lanza and Berman and it was Amazing. I have not had the motivation to write a review in quite awhile, but the concepts
expressed here were so unique that I wanted to share the experience. Their premise is unique (for me anyway) and refreshing. The development of the arguments and background info were very persuasive. While I will continue my journey on understanding what this consciousness is all about, it was nice to read a new perspective. I hope to read more of their work. Thanks guys for your fascinating journey!
