This was just fabulous. Well worth the wait. I just finished reading the whole series over again right before this one came out and I really enjoyed it. Great writing and fantastic character development.

The ideal is “zombie” apocalypse scenario

This book is very focused on the relationships between the characters and there’s very little actual survival skills going on. It’s a zombie apocalypse in the most ideal possible scenario for preppers. Or people who know preppers anyway. They have the right people in the right place with the right equipment all the time. That’s not to say that this is not a good book for what it is. It’s fun. There are some things that I don’t feel really lineup. Such as the main characters age. He’s supposed to be in his 30s but I picture him as more like an early to mid 20s guy who really hasn’t figured out his life yet. His biggest positive is that his uncle was a prepper. I don’t think that’s really giving up much because I think that that information is in the info page.

I have really enjoyed the series. I hope the author will write more. This was my favorite of the four, but they were all really good.

It had potential. The story sounded interesting before it started. I listened for 2 plus hours and kept speeding it up thinking it might finally get better. It may have been the reader or maybe the reader was doing the best they could with what they had. If it were a paperback book I would have shelved it a while ago. As it stands It was a waste of a credit even for the 2 for 1 sale. Maybe I’ll go back to it when I have run out of books to read at some point.

I loved the first one and the last one. I wasn’t as thrilled with the short story and book 2 but I will definitely get the next ones in the series.

I feel like I got away with something by getting the entire series for one credit. I’m 70 plus hours in and it’s been one heck of a ride so far. Has the author killed off a couple of my favorites? I don’t think I’m giving anything too surprising away in a zombie book by saying Yes. Am I still reading it even though I cried and threw my phone? Still yes. Give it a try. It vaguely reminds me of Bobby Adair’s “Slow Burn” series in all the best ways. There were a couple of times I got a bit grossed out and had to skip ahead a minute or two but this is a zombie book so it’s expected. I have one small complaint about the narrator’s little Hispanic girl voice (she sounds like a strangled muppet) but otherwise he was great.

This book was so good and even though I feel like I waited for it for a long time it did not disappoint, it was totally worth the wait I love that you brought some cameos in from other storylines. I look forward to hearing more about Nell and Occam. Just fabulous. Chefs kiss

Decent story, poor editing

I’m about halfway through maybe 3/4 of the way through with the story. I have already noticed some pretty terrible editing flaws. I mean, did she chop her hair off with a knife or no? Also, the main character continues to make decisions that could potentially cause her children’s death over and over and over again. I’m not saying I would do any better but she is supposed to be Betty badass. I’m not sure if I will bother reading the next one in the story. This never should’ve been published to audible unless you were doing it as an omnibus. These are not really worth a full credit for one.
