About this listen

She thought she was prepared for the end of the world...until it actually came.

Alex Duncan is a mother, a sister - and the daughter of a doomsday prepper. She always thought her father was insane, raving about an apocalypse she never believed in, but when a plague hits the United States and the dead no longer stay dead, Alex discovers heeding her deceased father’s advice is what will keep her family alive. Before he died, Alex’s father created a compound in Montana just in case situations like this arose.

Hell has arrived on Earth.

The dead walk, hungry for human flesh. Living in a highly populated city like Las Vegas makes the reality of the plague imminent to Alex. With little time to spare, Alex must make split-second decisions to prevent her family from being devoured. Facing the end, Alex has three goals: Escape Las Vegas. Get to the compound. Survive.

As the outside world crumbles and grows darker, Alex faces adversity from not just the infected, but the uninfected as well. Government assistance is nowhere in sight, and rumors fly that the nation’s only solution to the growing plague is execution.

Not everyone will outlast the plague. Doomsday is here. Will Alex be up to the challenge, or fall, and rise again as one of the undead?

Bonus! Includes Alone, a Sundown series novella.

I enjoyed this book, and will buy the 2nd.
I think the difference between Female authors and Male authors is women tend to build story around relationships, which is totally fine. Then the story is seasoned into the plot of relationships. A Male author us just the opposite, the is a plot, and maybe a relationship seasoned in as a spice. Again, this approach obviously appeals to a great many people. This book is well written, the plot development is great, the character interaction and growth is really well done, and I will buy the next in the series. I'm a sucker for post apocalypse books;)

Great book, enjoyed it!

I am always smacked out of my enjoyment of a story when I hear grammatical errors. I stop thinking about what the characters are going through and instead think about how someone really needs to review this author's grammar (had ran? with you and I? etc.). I also was incredulous when, after spending 3/4 of the book having the protagonist keep repeating how she has to protect all of her children, she makes a decision that seems counter to that oft-repeated statement. Despite these flaws, I enjoyed the story, and liked the narrator too..

Overall, and entertaining perspective on the survival of the zombie apocalypse. I think my only issue with the story was that despite her training in preparedness by her father, The protagonist seemed to make a number of Gross tactical mistakes throughout the book such as letting persons sneak up right behind her on multiple occasions and camping at rest stops and crowded campgrounds. The one real disaster was talking about their camper getting stuck because body parts were packed up in the wheel wells. Again, A little nitpicky but overall good read.

Entertaining

This was a really enjoyable book full of suspense, action and more. I truly hope Courtney Konstantin makes several more for this series like 20+!

Amazing Series!

I liked the book enough to get the next one in the series but the grammatical errors were a turn off for me. Makes me wonder how the author achieved this level of writing and never learned about fairly simple grammar rules. Other than that the story was good and the narration was excellent.

I will be listening to the next book for sure. I enjoyed the story. I did cringe at the mommy instead of mom thing. It seems like a strong independent woman would not have her kids do that.... but that's just a personal preference thing.

Story flowed well. I enjoyed the characters and plot.

I really like this book. The storyline is very realistic, besides the zombie part. LOL. Love the characters and think Alex and I could be really good friends!

Great book!

Like that the book was not over detailed about the surroundings or getting all crazy with the bery dark side of what humans do during a crisis

I got this on a whim because I had a long road trip I was already started on when my planned book ended. so I just clicked what showed as "you may like". yes, it's a zombie apocalypse. yes, there are good and bad humans. but the story is engaging and the characters are both easy to love and easy to dislike. I enjoyed it and will get the next in the series.
