Story
Dear Listener: Lindsay Foxe is a successful model in New York - a woman who hides behind a new name to protect herself from a past of betrayal and treachery and a present that becomes fraught with danger. The product of old San Francisco wealth, the daughter of a man who despises her, her life is forever changed when she is brutally assaulted by her sister’s husband, and then rejected by her family. Lindsay is finally forced to face up to her past when she meets S. C. Taylor, a tough ex-cop turned private investigator and computer troubleshooter.

The whistle
Reviewed: 03-15-24
The person who reads Taylor’s part has a whistle when he says his S’s. It’s painful and annoying when listening with headphones. I almost quit the book when I got to chapter 8 because of it.
Otherwise, good story.

Story
Invite Hannibal Lecter into the palace of your mind and be invited into his mind palace in turn. Note the similarities in yours and his, the high vaulted chambers of your dreams, the shadowed halls, the locked storerooms where you dare not go, the scrap of half-forgotten music, the muffled cries from behind a wall. In one of the most eagerly anticipated literary events of the decade, Thomas Harris takes us once again into the mind of a killer, crafting a chilling portrait of insidiously evolving evil - a tour de force of psychological suspense.

Mason Verger
Reviewed: 02-25-20
It was difficult to follow the Mason Verger parts. Especially around chapters 45-46. It should have been done better/more understandable.
