Not bad

Love the premise. The story was researched and the characters were interesting with spotty humor. My only complaint would have to be the narrators voice. Although he did a fine job overall with the narration, his voice sounded to elderly for a main character who was only supposed to be around 33 years old. Even with that I will buy book two.

Story
Waiter to the Rich and Shameless is not just a peek into the secretive inner workings of a legendary five-star restaurant; it is not just a celebrity tell-all or a scathing corporate analysis. It is a top-tier waiter's personal coming-of-age story, an intimate look into the complicated challenges of serving in the country's most elite, Hollywood-centric dining room while fighting to maintain a sense of self and purpose.

So much potential
Reviewed: 04-22-17
This subject had a ton of potential to be so much more. As the title suggests the book does give a mild behind the curtain look at the high end service industry but that's about it. The few "Rich and Famous" stories are cautious, subdued and bland. The performance was excellent. Story in the end was meh at best.

The other is my kryptonite. I'm broken, lost, and disgusted with myself. But I can't stop. This is my story. My broken love story.

This took roughly a month to finish which is very much unlike me. Parts were excellent and parts sounded like a cheap Penthouse Forum. Now I'm far from prudish but in this books case, less profanity would have helped with the believability. All and all I'm going to give it a MEH...

He can't make the rent on his apartment, and he drinks so much he can barely make it to the crappy gig that keeps his band afloat, let alone play when he gets there. I really don't know what to make of this book. I can tell you it wasn't what I expected - in a good way. It took some time to get going but stick with it as it does ramp up. Although I don't think it's for everyone it was still an interesting listen and think I would recommend it. I must say Deep Blue was provided by the publisher at no charge for an unbiased review.

The story was great! Love the premise. The narrator was TERRIBLE! It sounds as if it's his 1st reading and is attempting to exaggerate all the wrong words. I do this when reading my daughters school books to her. It's annoying. I'm going to proof my daughters books before I read to her. This book was free in return for an unbiased review.

A rare new take on the post apocalyptic genre. No zombies, pandemic or vampires. My only complaint would be the length of this book - it's only 4+ hours and I have a problem using a credit on such a short story. It is a series so maybe it will come out in the omnibus 1-3. That said I will likely reluctantly purchase the rest of the series. A female protagonist to boot!
