Story
Doesn’t it seem that the more we seek happiness, the more elusive it becomes? There is an easy fix: fun is an action you can take here and now, practically anywhere, anytime. Through research and science, we know fun is enormously beneficial to our physical and psychological well-being, yet fun’s absence from our modern lives is striking. Whether you’re a frustrated high-achiever trying to find a better work-life balance or someone who is seeking relief from life’s overwhelming challenges, it is time you gain access to the best medicine available.

I really wanted to enjoy this!

This book was a book club choice from a podcaster that I love!
But, this book hit me wrong. It was more anecdotal story, than research/reporting.
However, when the author described faking a pregnancy on a Christmas card to get out of town friends to reach out, I was done. I finished the book despite this story, but still couldn’t recover.

Story
If you’re struggling to stay on top of your to-do list, you probably have a good reason: anxiety, fatigue, depression, ADHD, or lack of support. For therapist KC Davis, the birth of her second child triggered a stress-mess cycle. The more behind she felt, the less motivated she was to start. She didn’t fold a single piece of laundry for seven months. One life-changing realization restored her sanity—and the functionality of her home: You don’t work for your home; your home works for you.

This book made me feel like KC was talking directly to me! She made my soul feel lighter. Every self-doubt and worry, all of the negative self-talk I feed myself was addressed and reframed in such healthy and helpful ways. Thank you thank you thank you!
