Lame.
Reviewed: 09-30-24
I was looking for ways to fight false accusations which are rampant in our post #metoo society and I got an earful from a man just rambling on about his own case and his own achievements and how great he is. Who cares! I don’t care how you met Epstein. I care that my step father has been wrongfully convicted on made up lies from 30 years ago with no proof and still no one would believe him. Lame.

On August 13, 1986, just one day after his 32nd birthday, Michael Morton went to work at his usual time. By the end of the day, his wife Christine had been savagely bludgeoned to death in the couple's bed - and the Williamson County Sherriff's office in Texas wasted no time in pinning her murder on Michael, despite an absolute lack of physical evidence. Michael was swiftly sentenced to life in prison for a crime he had not committed

Craig was entertaining and motivating. I enjoyed his stories although his humor is a little cheesy ;-). He was fun to listen to and I guess it’s teje pastor on him making him a bit cheesy.

At first, she struggles to find a place in this new existence. Although unsure about her surroundings and its occupants, through the gentle guidance of the maid she gradually becomes interested in the story of Mrs Craven, who apparently used to spend her time in a garden at the house, the key to which has vanished.

I liked this book. There were great reminders and the reading is ok. I’m not a fan of the slang English so often “Girl, you know what I’m talking about”. It felt a little like high school chat. She has a great story and is authentic in sharing her experiences. But, for me, it was a great reminder of things I need to do better. No huge ah-has here. Decent reading, listened to it at 1.5.

Story
Jeannette Walls grew up with parents whose ideals and stubborn nonconformity were both their curse and their salvation. Rex and Rose Mary Walls had four children. In the beginning, they lived like nomads, moving among Southwest desert towns, camping in the mountains. Rex was a charismatic, brilliant man who, when sober, captured his children's imagination. Rose Mary painted and wrote and couldn't stand the responsibility of providing for her family; she called herself an "excitement addict."
