this is an amazing book, I wish I had read it so long ago. the principles in it offer great guidance to change what is happening in your household, and the examples make it easy to relate to and apply.

I found this book to be very helpful. I even tried some of the techniques with great results. I come from the southern way of discipline and the tools illustrated in this book are more effective.

What does Alan Sklar bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He voice was very soothing and clear. I felt like he was teaching me with patience and understanding.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reaction but I did have quite a few "AH-HA" moments.

I wish I had found this book a decade ago. Such clear information and examples that I feel I could have really changed the course of things had I had this info sooner!! At least it's never too late to start being consistent!!

Great suggestions and ideas for strong willed children. Tried with my 12, 9 and 7 year old. Staying on top of their testing and misbehaving is hard. Following through and being consistant is key.

Would you listen to Setting Limits with Your Strong-Willed Child again? Why?

Of course, this is very practical and realistic. Very well crafted. I haven't finished listening but I have learned so much. It's so easy to understand and follow and the narrator is very good, I don't know why the other reviewer characterized it as a difficult listen. He read it the way it should have been read, even the dialogues were so appropriate and intonation just perfect!

I bought that Scream-Free Parenting, returned it because it beat around the bush too much. Not practical at all, I have been a child care provider for more than 40 years and I should know.

You have to embrace the whole book to get the answers to all your questions. Meaning, don't think you can just skim the book or juat read the first few chapters. The author gave PLENTY of examples and scenarios to compare to your own children. I learned a lot from this book.
