Story
Noah Fairchild has been losing his formerly polite Southern parents to far-right cable news for years, so when his mother leaves him a voicemail warning him that the “Great Reckoning” is here, he assumes it’s related to one of the many conspiracy theories she believes in. But when his own phone calls go unanswered, Noah makes the long drive from Brooklyn to Richmond, Virginia. There, he discovers his childhood home in shambles, a fridge full of spoiled food, and his parents locked in a terrifying trance-like state in front of the TV.

Let’s hope we make it out alive

The scariest part of this book, is that it’s practically happening in real life! I walked into this blind. I had no idea what it was about, however I love Clay Chapman, as well as his books! I knew I’d be in for a ride to crazy town, and I had my ticket. Loved the whole telling of this story. There were definitely some gross parts, but welcome to horror and Clay. That being said I know exactly the people I will be recommending it to.

Good old revenge
Reviewed: 05-23-25
I wasn’t sure what I was getting into with this book. Really good story about an 18 year old girl whose dad leaves and her life is turned upside down by the new man in her mom’s life. Little bit of serial killer, little bit revenge, and some graphic eye ball eating. Well done.

I liked this book a lot. The main character was young, but the gore was not! I haven’t read the Conservator’s Collection, so I wasn’t aware of The Eyebiter prior to this book. It was ok though, I was not lost in reading it. I’m looking forward to book 2 which comes out next month.

Story
I'm haunted. Not by ghosts, but by a face I can't quite remember. Eyes that shine so brightly each time I see them are now nothing more than a hazy memory. I'm consumed. The thoughts that whisper so quietly inside my mind when I'm sure I have this evil inside of me under control are becoming more persistent. I'm lost. I know where I need to be, but not quite sure if I'll get there. Will she ever show her face to me or will I always only see a blank slate of nothing?

Story
At the Little Academy, mothers fret over their preschoolers, who have developed an unsettling syndrome. The children’s odd craving for blood is considered relatively benign (to everyone except their beleaguered moms) until a young teacher is found dead and the only potential witnesses are ten adorable four-year-olds. It becomes clear that the police are looking at the children as not just witnesses, but also suspects…and they’re watching the mothers as well. Cutting Teeth is a witty story that asks if there is anything a mother is not asked to sacrifice for her children.

Kid vampires??
Reviewed: 02-21-25
I enjoyed listening to this book. I wasn’t really sure, starting it, what it was about. I assumed vampires by the cover. It was a good story line with the mystery of who killed the teacher at a preschool. The end had me. I hadn’t thought that was how it would end. Nice little twist.
