I was very surprised by the theme of resilience through darkness in this book. It is a thoroughly touching and engaging narrative.

This author is usually hilarious, but half of this book was really funny and the other half was just kinda boring.

The subject matter is interesting but this book is not. The author goes on and on about the injustices happening in cuba through her characters perspectives without making you feel for the characters themselves. To be honest I cannot bring myself to care about any characters if all they do is talk and dont take any action to push the story along.

This book is for anyone who has ever fantasized about legally framing someone else for crime. Adam is trying to live his best life while being a shitty writer and a professional trophy husband while his workaholic wife thinks expensive presents make up for not being there. Long story short Adam cheats and his rich, fashionista wife is pissed but offers to help him out of the goodness of her heart.

The story was disjointed for an audiobook. Seems like it was originally a podcast of something. It was an ok listen.

This book was very entertaining. The narration was superb and the plot was not cliches or overused. The best thing about the story is that it did not take itself too seriously. Will recommend to anyone who is seeking a fun listen.

Cheesy, violent and definitely a late 80's vampire tale. Definitely a fun listen for any fan of vampire books.

The writer/narrator tries too hard through the story to make herself sound innocent and childlike. From claiming to feel like a bad girl while drinking white wine and to stating she enjoys a simple life while in a Vanity Fair sponsored trip to France, Rachel is absolutely unrelatable, tone deaf and insufferable. While it is awful to be the victim of a scammer, the writer makes Anna Sorokin seem more relatable by comparison.

The saving grace in this tale is Christina Applegate's superb narration style. The story depicts a woman surrounded by people who stomp all over her and her family and with a completely unsupportive, cowardly husband who pushes her to get involved with these people for money. When our hero finally explodes she is put in a place where she has to apologize to absolutely everyone for venting her rightful frustration and that is where the story ends. With a woman who chastises herself and sticks to unsupportive, terrible people for the sake of 'renewal'. Ugh
