Overall, the stories don’t feel very Holmesian. There were a few that stood out as being good, but some of them were frankly quite stupid. Throughout, I was disappointed by how little trademarked Holmes deduction there was in each story. There often wasn’t any real mystery at all, just the set up and then Holmes explaining what happened, it felt like most stories could’ve used an extra ten or twenty minutes to flesh them out further.

As with all the Cthulhu Casebooks, the Highgate Horrors is an excellent homage to both Conan Doyle and Lovecraft. It also serves as a satisfying conclusion to the series and a fitting tribute to the titular character.
