Story
Boxes are a part of our lives, following us wherever we venture, whether we acknowledge them or not. They provide structure, safety, and security and often help identify similarities between us. We live in boxes (houses), receive boxed gifts, and pack our belongings into boxes to move into a new “box.” We use boxes to express things: “Think outside the box,” “She’s boxed into a corner,” or “Be sure to check all the boxes.” Some people base their identity on the box they put themselves in.

This book will scare you, but prepare you.
Reviewed: 03-18-20
When I bought the book I intended to read this over the course of a couple weeks since it is difficult to fit reading in to an already busy schedule. Well, that idea went out the window. I read it in one sitting. I couldn't help it because Blaine introduced ideas and concerns I had never contemplated about the future of commercial real estate. I'll say this, at first it scared me because the disruptions that Blaine introduces were all too realistic, especially when he backs it up with other industry examples. As a CRE practitioner myself you can either be scared and do nothing and pretend you didn't just read this book......or you can be figuring out how to capitalize on the inevitable disruptions coming to the industry. I plan to do the latter. I've read Blaine's other book, Thrive, so I knew Blaine would be writing some truly fantastic thought provoking material in Adapt. Blaine is a 30,000 foot thinker, he always has been. Everything I read from him leaves you putting a book down and saying to yourself, "holy crap, why didn't I think of that", or "yes, of course, that makes total sense." If you're in CRE, I highly recommend readying both his books or you could be left behind in this extremely fast moving industry.
