I've now read 2 things from Paul Tremblay: Horror Movie and The Last Conversation. I feel he is the master of creating an unsettling situation and remaining in it the entire time. Something like this could easily become irritating, but with him, it's mesmerizing. One of my favorite authors. I hope his other stuff is this good.

in this one, it is a tale of recovery but I don't want to say more to risk spoiling it..

This was a great ending to the series. I've never read more books featuring a single character than I have with Mathew Corbett, and I'd keep going if there was more! well done, Robert McCammon!! And you too Edoardo Ballerini supurb narrationi!!

For fans of horror movies, and it's after effects, this is for you. A likable narrator tells how a movie can become more than a movie. this one will stick with me for a bit I think.

I really liked this book and enjoyed All the stories but my favorite by far was Danny Coughlin's bad dream. it was a nice premise and an exploration of that premise.

my second favorite was probably the Cujo sequel. some nice and disturbing imagery in that one.

The narrator was great.

A very frustrating and depressing era in history to read about. Despite that, this book has a likable main character with just enough hope to keep you reading.

I liked the story but it feels like as dangerous as this thing was, someone other than the reporter would have been looking into it. It was an enjoyable tale though.

It's good to see Holly's progression through the books and this one is kind of good because we get to see she can handle herself without much assistance. The villains were annoying but entertaining at the same time, more so the further in we get. Overall, I really enjoyed this one. Is it King's best? I can't say that because he's had quite a few masterpieces, but this one, for me, was worth it and the narrator did quite a good job as well.

It's a slow burn for sure and the reader misses out on some of the huge moments (only hears about it). But the world and the characters feel so real despite it being a vampire apocalypse scenario. It's like if you had the best bits from The Stand and the Walking Dead (substituting vampires for zombies) smashed together.

There is a definite hopeless melancholy to it as well and normally I can't handle that but on this I couldn't turn away.

Favorite character: Lish
Favorite moment: the 1st showdown with Babcock

Starting from the top, it was a smooth listen/read. The author and narrator are both super skilled. The book itself was dark with just enough of a sprinkling of humor that it didn't wallow in its darkness. It also felt like a horror book, not a faux horor book with a cutesy charming hero doing silly things. Galaxy Stern is great protagonist and heavily flawed at the same time. Her constant struggle to keep it together is intriguing. The supporting cast is great too and there is just enough suspicion to go around that you remain unsure of who to trust and where their loyalties lie. It is a dark theme, has dealing with devils, and is definitely a horror book, but if you like books like The Shining, and They Thirst, I definitely recommend it.

It is book 2 in a series. Ninth House is great as well.

I enjoyed hearing about all the behind the scenes stuff that was happening as the show progressed and how hard Linda worked to keep it going while dealing with her own issues.
