Story
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

This book should be a mandatory reading assignment for all white people. I learned so much from this book and now I want a paper copy so I can go back in depth.

Story
Nikki lives in cosmopolitan West London, where she tends bar at the local pub. The daughter of Indian immigrants, she's spent most of her 20-odd years distancing herself from the traditional Sikh community of her childhood, preferring a more independent (that is, Western) life. When her father's death leaves the family financially strapped, Nikki, a law school dropout, impulsively takes a job teaching a "creative writing" course at the community center in the beating heart of London's close-knit Punjabi community.

What a cute story!

I very much enjoyed this tale. It has a little bit of everything. A coming of age story, a bit of mystery and of course a bit of erotic story telling. The narrator was also wonderful.

In Life's Work, an outspoken Christian reproductive justice advocate and abortion provider (one of the few doctors to provide such services to women in Mississippi and Alabama) pulls from his personal and professional journeys as well as the scientific training he received as a doctor to reveal how he came to believe, unequivocally, that helping women in need, without judgment, is precisely the Christian thing to do.

Every woman should read or listen to this book!

This is as informative, inspirational as it is entertaining. Reproductive rights are women's rights. We shouldn't in this day in age still be fighting to not be property. This doctor was raised in the Bible belt and his perspective on women's reproductive rights are inspiring and helpful when navigating the morality of this particular subject.
