Story
Doctor Fionn Kane is running from a broken heart, one he hopes to mend in small-town Nebraska, far away from his almost-fiancé and his derailed surgical career. It’s a simpler life: head down, hard work, and absolutely no romantic relationships. He wants none of the circus he left behind in Boston.

Outstanding Series Conclusion!
Reviewed: 06-17-25
Scythe & Sparrow is the outstanding series conclusion of the ruinous love trilogy. I adored all the books, but this one is hands down my favorite. These two are emotionally complex, built beautifully, dynamic, and so much fun. Fion’s journey from youth to present is filled with heartache, danger, fear, anger, angst, strength, humor, compassion, and so much more. I loved him from the moment I met him in previous stories, and I adore him even more having experienced his journey now. Rose is equally complex and damaged in her own right, doing what she can to help others the way she wished she had been helped. Her heartful care for those in her inner circle is amazing, and her humor and strength, sassy banter and fun attitude are such a delight. The narrators gave awesome performances from start to finish. And the epilogues? Oh yes! Love love love!!!

Dramatic Action and Spicy Hot Connection
Reviewed: 06-10-25
Scarlet Secrets is filled with drama, darkness, suspense, action, and spicy hotness. Erin is a bit naive and stubborn AF, a dedicated mother and an emotional wreck, clever, strong, and genuinely good. She is definitely Demyan’s match in every way. Demyan is filled with darkness, conditioned from a young age by a ruthless father, and yet he has grown into a loyal and brilliant leader who is learning to recognize and accept powerfully positive emotions. Watching him unravel for and with Erin is dynamic and so intense. Their connection is electric from the get go. His secrets and her stubborn refusal to see with eyes wide open make for an explosive mix of trouble that builds and builds all the way to the cliff-hanger ending.
The narrators are fabulous at bringing this story to audio life. Demyan’s darkness is powerfully portrayed in equal measure with his bright and soft moments through inflection, tone, volume, and passionate delivery. Erin’s sweetness, sass, and stubbornness are brilliantly balanced as well. I loved this audiobook and cannot wait for the second half of the duet to be released in audio!!!

When Hart heads to Reagan’s for a night of fun, she’s gone. Vanished. Hart knows that Reagan would never just disappear, and he fears she’s in real trouble.

Intense, Emotional Journey
Reviewed: 05-06-25
Vanished is an extremely intense and emotional journey with some very triggering moments and plenty of darkness. Reagan is an emotional mess from the beginning, and her issues compound as she experiences terror after terror. The novel focuses more on her and her experiences than the love story between her and Hart, building the angst and fear incrementally higher with each turn of the page. Hart is a dynamic man with his own issues, and I would have liked to get to know him as deeply as we do Reagan. The narrators did a fantastic job performing their roles and those of the supporting characters. The emotions and tensions were running high throughout this book, and the delivery was on point.

Epic Series Finale
Reviewed: 04-23-25
Sin with Me is an epic finale to the Sugarland Creek series. I LOVE the history that the author builds between Wilder and Delilah—so many things from the other books make sense in a whole new way now (reading this book as a stand alone is possible, but having the context from the previous stories is nice). The tension and chemistry between them builds as the book progresses. I wouldn’t consider this story angsty, as it’s pretty clear where they are headed from the get go and other books, but it is definitely filled with drama and delights. The sub-plots that are woven through bring the action and suspense.
The narrators for this one are awesome! Their performances are on point and so much fun to listen to. For me, the audiobook really elevated the experience of this novel to the next level. I have mixed feelings about this one only because I have been waiting and waiting for Wilder’s story and I’m also sad we are leaving this dynamic group of people. I do feel like we get a very satisfying end to this series with a lovely wrap up in the epilogue.

Angsty & Heartful Love!
Reviewed: 04-08-25
Web of Lies is an angsty and heartful love story with some fascinating twists, great drama, and main characters who totally deserve their HEA. Kat and Graham were each put through the wringer in a past relationship, and it’s interesting to see how they choose to navigate their emotions and circumstances moving forward. Kat is dynamic and bold in her choices, though completely off base in a lot of the narratives she writes in her own head. It’s clear her self-esteem is at rock bottom, but she is brave in that she is willing to take a chance again, but she doesn’t always listen very well. Graham appears to be better at hiding his emotions, and it’s fun to see how his behavior comes out around his employees and with his friends. The bar scene at the beginning is awesome, and I absolutely love how Graham’s coworkers and best friend help him to shift his perspective.
The narrators did an amazing job of highlighting the angst, pain, joy, and everything in between with their knockout performances. I loved listening to this audiobook—it brought a well-written novel to the next level for me.

Amazing Character Development & Great Plot
Reviewed: 04-02-25
Leather & Lark is beautifully built, with amazing character development and a great plot. Though there are some truly gruesome moments, the balance between the humorous parts and the disturbing is well-planned and smoothly delivered. Lark is such a complex woman—we saw pieces of her in the first book in this series—and I loved getting to know her through the eyes of her suitor. Watching their fumbling and miscommunications was as entertaining as their sweet and steamy scenes. The narrators were outstanding in their capacity to portray the diverse group of people in this novel. Their delivery, tone, pitch, and inflection were spot on as I imagined each of the characters to be, so for me listening to the audiobook was an
awesome way to enjoy this author’s wildly creative, jam-packed story. Loved it!

Story
Cierra Wallace always tried to do the right thing. Helping others has been high up on her list of priorities. That’s probably because she realized years ago that one person could make a difference. Only now she’s wondering if the help she provided years ago was her best idea. Greyson West senses a bit of fear when Cierra shows up at Harper Security Ops looking for self-defense and tactical training skills. It’s not uncommon in his line of work, but something about seeing the worry in Cierra’s eyes hits him a little differently.

Drama, Emotion, & Beautiful Bonds!
Reviewed: 03-12-25
Revenge is filled with drama, emotions and beautiful bonds! Greyson and Cierra are a dynamic couple with robust lives and passion for helping others. As a school librarian, Cierra’s mostly quiet life is upended at the beginning of the novel and while the threat is not overt or direct, the drama and suspense builds wonderfully as the story progresses. Greyson is the ultimate book boyfriend—protective alpha with a caring soul who treats people with respect and his woman like a queen. Their meet cute is funny and sweet with a little bit of heat, and the energy flowing between them grows as the love story progresses, providing the perfect blend of all the feels and so much more.
The narrators were outstanding in their roles, bringing an entire new level of life to these robust characters. I loved listening to Cierra and Grayson interact, their internal monologues, and my favorite scene involved cake and the other Ops guys—so well done! This was such a great listen all around—I highly recommend this audiobook!

Absolutely Phenomenal!
Reviewed: 01-28-25
Butcher & Blackbird is absolutely phenomenal! I bought the audiobook on recommendation from the Read Me Romance podcast hosts, and I am beyond happy that I did so! This is most definitely dark, super steamy, and funny as all get out! With duet narration delivered by Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers (both of whom are outstanding—more to come on this) to keep me riveted, this is my first Brynn Weaver novel, but it will not be my last!
Blackbird is a highly angsty loner with a fascinating personality, a droll day job that she excels at, a troubled past that we learn about as the story progresses, and whose personal passion and outlet is stalking and terminating serial killers. With a sarcastic sense of humor and fantastic one-on-one communication skills, her sassy banter and dry wit is perfectly contrasted by Butcher. Butcher is a restaurant owner and chef by day whose private passion also happens to be taking out serial killers. He is alpha-protector hotness on a stick with a side of dynamite. The story drops you right into the thick of it, and it keeps you dangling on the edge to the very end. The chemistry between Blackbird and Butcher is off the charts, and the game that they agree to is highly entertaining in the most unconventional of ways. Their story is full of unexpected twists and turns, intense and complex supporting characters, and crazy wicked sexual tension that builds and builds and…yes!
Joe Arden portrays Butcher so perfectly—from the attitude and inflection, the emotion and steam, to the little moments and sound effects on the side. Lucy Rivers is a stunning Blackbird with her soothing voice and dynamic delivery. I absolutely love the duet narration for this—every time Butcher (or other male characters) speak it is voiced by Joe—even when it’s a chapter delivered by Lucy—and vice versa. This really elevates the audio to the next level of entertainment and engagement. And the way Joe and Lucy performed was as if they were in the same room and the same time playing off of each other’s performances.
I would give this audiobook a million stars if I could, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys dark romance. I do strongly suggest that you read and heed trigger warnings posted by the author and/or others’ feedback, as this story is graphic in all aspects—including conversation, sex, torture, unaliving, and more.

She may be the youngest of seven and the only woman bodyguard on the team, but she’s every bit as tough as her older brothers. On a trip to Aspen Cove, she finds herself working for famous bass player Red Blakely, the personification of everything she detests in a man: arrogant, entitled, and too handsome for his own good. How can she protect him when all she wants to do is kill him?

Red’s Redemption!
Reviewed: 01-23-25
One Hundred Desires is unexpectedly sweet and so much fun. Red finds redemption and self-worth within himself with the help of the Aspen Cove family in this funny and flirty love story. I love Viv’s spirit and strength, brilliance and boldness, and the way she handles Red and addresses his stalker issues. Seeing Red’s inner self is such a juxtaposition from his character in previous novels; it’s refreshing to hear his inner thoughts and personal perspective. I love that he is so much more than what the media and his past have portrayed him to be. This is a beautiful blend of action, emotion, drama, and sass—and the narrator does a wonderful job of portraying these two.

Studying in London was an amazing experience, but was it worth it? That’s the question I keep asking myself. It cost me a lot. It cost me Colin Hill. Grumpy in the Mountains is awesome! Colin is the gruffest, grumpiest man on the Greene Mountain scene, and I’ve loved his appearances in prior books. I’ve been waiting for his story and it’s sooooo good! Molly is kind and sweet, driven and motivated. She and Colin have explosive chemistry and such a beautiful history—up until the day they didn’t. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Colin come unraveled for her once again. The perfect blend of action, drama, and irritating mama brings them right to where they are supposed to be. I just loved it!
Patrick and Kitt are amazing narrators! I’ve heard each of them in other audiobooks before and am a big fan of each of their bodies of work. These two really get into their roles and do an amazing job of bringing their characters to audio life. Patrick plays an amazing Colin—full of emotion and so expressive in his delivery. Kitt is an equally stunning Molly with her zest for life and drive to succeed really shining through.
