About this listen

From the #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the genre-breaking international TikTok sensation Butcher & Blackbird and Leather & Lark comes the final book in the Ruinous Love Trilogy—a friends-with-benefits dark romantic comedy packed with murder, mayhem, and spice.

Doctor Fionn Kane is running from a broken heart, one he hopes to mend in small-town Nebraska, far away from his almost-fiancé and his derailed surgical career. It’s a simpler life: head down, hard work, and absolutely no romantic relationships. He wants none of the circus he left behind in Boston.

But then the real circus finds him.

Motorcycle performer Rose Evans has spent a decade on the road with the Silveria Circus, and it suits her just fine, especially when she has the urge to indulge in a little murder when she’s not in the spotlight. But when a kill goes awry and she ends up with an injured leg, Rose finds herself stuck in Nebraska, at the home of the adorably nerdy town doctor.

The problem is, not every broken heart can be sewn back together.

. . . And the longer you stay in one place, the more likely your ghosts are to catch up.

Editorial Review

A circus performer walks into a clinic...
Scythe & Sparrow, the conclusion to Brynne Weaver’s Ruinous Love Trilogy, is finally here—and I was hooked from the moment I pressed play. This story has it all: tension, chaos, and steam that had me blushing one minute and literally saying, “Oh, my” out loud the next. Dr. Fionn Kane, trying to leave the darkness of his past behind, is living a quiet life in Nebraska when Rose, a circus performer with a dangerous secret, crashes into his world—literally. After an injury lands her under his care, their connection grows in ways neither of them expected, pulling them into a web of danger and desire. Eric Nolan and Samantha Brentmoor deliver a performance that brings every twist and stabby turn to life. —Patty R., Audible Editor

Love this trilogy

Nothing will ever compare to Butcher and Blackbird for me. It’s my favorite all time book. And I truly did not enjoy Leather and Lark. This book was better. The narrators are awesome. They did fantastic. I do miss Joe Arden. I thought the plot for this book was drawn out. But it was still good. BUT THE EPILOGUES! They were everyyything 💕💕💕💕💕

Perfect book for the end of the trilogy!! So sad it’s come to an end but Rose and Fionn’s story was so much fun 🧡

Nothing about this book I didn’t like. The emotional connection that they had was well written and there friendship was beautiful

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE OVER…

I loved Rowan. Then I really Loved Lachlan. But for me Fion takes the cake. Him and Rose are perfect!! I loved their story!! I’m sad that it’s over

So sad it’s over

I found this series last year and ran through the first two books. I fell in love with the writing and characters immediately. Was so sad when I had to wait many months for the third book to come out, but it was so worth it! Such a good ending to the series 🫶🏻

Fantastic & Fiery

Get it? Two words with same letter! No? Oh well! This story was AMAZING but I expected nothing else after reading B&B and L&L! Definitely a must read and will continue to recommend the series to others!

Stop ruining food!

This book literally made me laugh out loud. It was dark, hilarious, and had some amazing spice. My husband loved it even though he didn't read it! The voice performance was perfect. My only complaint is I will never look at cotton candy the same way every again.

I laughed, I cried…

I did not go into this book with super high hopes. Loved Butcher and Blackbird so much, but book 2, well it honestly was not my favorite. Partly because of the story and part because of the storytelling. But…and that’s a big but, Scythe & Sparrow was absolutely perfect! There were so many times I was laughing or gasping out loud that my family thought I was going crazy. The story was so well written, and didn’t have a bunch of fluff that wasn’t necessary. I think each and every chapter in this book made the whole story even better. ** possible spoiler **I was thrilled so much by the possibility of another story. Maybe not one that is part of the trilogy, but one that is interconnected.
I can not wait to see what else Brynn Weaver has in store for us.
