Story
Now that the extent of her powers is known, Solis, Noctis, and mortals all hunt her. Meanwhile, chaos reigns across the land. The immortal realm is ruled by a depraved king who will stop at nothing to reclaim Haven as a weapon, while the mortal lands must choose between serving a tyrant or following Prince Bell, the Kinslayer. And below, in the Netherworld, a great evil awaits, amassing an army of untold powers. Hunted, plagued by doubt, and torn between duty and love, Haven must find a way to broker peace between the nations before it’s too late.

Love the story, sometimes a lil stretched

At the beginning most of all and when exploring her feelings I thought she was a bit of a silly girl, cause she’s neglecting the obvious truth. Overall the story is catchy and things work out, but I found myself sighing sometimes when I thought the scene was a bit stupid and lengthy. Narration was great, loved the singing ;)

Story
After the Prince of Penryth saved her from captivity, 17-year-old Haven Ashwood spends her days protecting the kind prince and her nights secretly fighting the monsters outside the castle walls. When one of those monsters kidnaps Prince Bell, Haven must ally with Archeron Halfbane and his band of immortals to rescue her friend. Her quest takes her deep into the domain of a warped and vicious queen where the rules are simple: break her curse or die. Her rare and forbidden type of magic may be their only hope...but mixing light and dark comes with a steep price.

Wonderful story and narration
Reviewed: 12-26-22
I was pleasantly surprised by both the book, as well as the narration. I hadn’t expected a very strong story after listening to a few stories that ended up being more or less boring. This was not boring at all however. It has plenty of action and the narrator makes the characters come to live and I love all of them. Especially the shade lord 🙈

Prefer a little more action
Reviewed: 12-21-22
I liked the book well enough, but at times it is a bit lengthy. Some parts could’ve gone over faster, and I personally prefer a little more action. Not too bad of a story, but also too cliche.
I liked the 2 voices, although I thought the woman narrator was sometimes reading it too boring. I’ve literally fallen asleep a few times. Also I think she didn’t need to read it as though the entire text was spoken by an elven woman. A lil more nuance in her reading would’ve made me feel much more engaged.
I think I might read the follow up, but I’ll actually read it and not listen to it.

Story
Seven years have passed since Mordecai’s battle with the Shining God, Celior. Since that time, his control of his abilities has vastly improved. He has, at last, envisioned a use for the ‘God-Stone’, but the gods want vengeance and now seek to destroy everything he has built. The secrets of the past threaten the future of his kingdom, his family, and perhaps humanity itself, unless Mordecai can discover the meaning of ‘Illeniel’s Doom’.

Exciting! Action packed

I like Mr Mannings stories and this one as well! It’s action packed, emotional, and what I consider a great fantasy story. Every book I read from Mr Manning I want more, either as audio, ebook or just a common read. His stories have all the elements I love. Action being the most important, magic, love and emotions.

Gripping, caring, great narration

Anyone liking adventure and to get ur emotions wracked… this book has it all. It’s dark sometimes, emotional to the point of crying tears, but that’s because you find yourself caring. Well done! In for a penny, in for a pound ;)
