Story
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Story
Danny's tall and skinny. Even though he's not "built", his arms are long enough to give his pitch a power so fierce that any college scout would sign him on the spot. Ninety-five-mile-an-hour fastball, but the boy's not even on a team. Every time he gets up on the mound, he loses it. Ball ends up so far out of the strike zone it's laughable. But at his private school, they don't expect much else from him. Danny's brown. Half-Mexican brown....

Captivating and Inspiring

Terrific story about the lives of underprivileged youth of color, their struggles, and their passion to overcome in a society bent on stereotyping them and keeping them in containers. A story of courage, determination, friendship, love, and the hidden treasures of athletic talent among these youth. Loved it!

Courage & Love Between Stranger: Powerful
Reviewed: 05-05-23
I could not put this audible down until I finished. The writing is so powerful and detailed I could almost feel their bodies ache, smell the food, the sweat, the stench and feel the fear and courage between every step. My father crossed the border as an undocumented immigrant and this book gives me an idea of what he and so many others have gone through and continue to experience.
By the end I could feel the undeniable love these people had for each other. The powerful four touched my heart… God bless them and help them someday reunite ❤️

Story
In this exquisite story of family, food, grief, and endurance, Michelle Zauner proves herself far more than a dazzling singer, songwriter, and guitarist. With humor and heart, she tells of growing up one of the few Asian-American kids at her school in Eugene, Oregon; of struggling with her mother's particular high expectations of her; of a painful adolescence; of treasured months spent in her grandmother's tiny apartment in Seoul, where she and her mother would bond, late at night, over heaping plates of food.

A Beautifully Written Daughter’s Journey
Reviewed: 03-04-22
I absolutely loved listening to this memoir. I was completely captivated by the culture, and the food that you could practically taste. I could almost smell the aroma of every recipe and taste the words of descriptive delicacies on my tongue.
The images of her mother and each of her family members became alive in such a manner I felt as through I personally knew them. And, to the author, musician, daughter, wife and friend congratulations and well done!

An incredible story of faith & courage& testimony of God
Reviewed: 08-29-18
Gave me hope in the power of God, His love for each of us and in our abilities to preserve in the midst of hardship. To the author thank you for teaching me courage, how to pray and hold on to faith and most especially how to forgive.
