Author needs to determine pronunciation of character names/places
Reviewed: 04-30-24
I love the series and this addition was great. Audiobooks have a specific vibe to them. When using different actors, those actors need to use the same pronunciation of character names/places. It's like a nagging itch you can't scratch each time you hear names pronounced differently, in the same world, and it takes away energy from the entire performance. I think the actors need to be on the same page as the author regarding character's names/places being pronounced. TomAto and TomAHto with "filler" words doesn't really matter, imo...but names/places absolutely do.
Also, I didn't even see this book until after listening to book 9. Why isn't this book in the list of books under "title details"?

Story
All Trades, Inc. had cemented itself as the biggest and best business around. If you wanted armor, weapons, potions, or anything else you might possibly need on an adventure, nobody did it better. Unfortunately, a company in the real world took notice and decided they wanted what Jack had. When he said no, things turned ugly.

Great Lit RPG

Great series up to this point. I usually can't stand it when the voice actor changes in the middle of a series, but this transition wasn't as bad as other books that have done it.

Best to read other books by authors first

I was fortunate to have listened to almost all of the books all the authors have written before reading this. So I already understood most of the worlds/characters. For me this was a good compilation of short stories that added more depth to what I've already experienced. Good work to all involved!

Story
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

I was inspired by this tactical writing. Heath did an amazing job juggling multiple personas with distinct voices. Thanks to the two of you and the team behind you that built this.

I wish the individual books were a little longer, but at the same time I wouldn't want that result in longer times between the next book. Double edged sword, I suppose.

Story
The world watches the sky with trepidation. The insanity of Xenocide knew no bounds, and all will soon suffer the effects he had planned for a millennium. Though none know what is to come, they all know it isn't going to be easy to survive. The Master has a plan, one that can give the world at large a way to escape the onrushing desolation. It may be on the bleeding edge of morality and what he needs might prove too difficult to secure, but the Master asks for trust. Cal and Dale both have their role to play as the world hurtles toward destruction.

Change of actor
Reviewed: 01-09-20
The book series is great. Howver, there is a new actor reading the book. His performance was good, but I didn't like the fact that the actor changed. I don't like when they swap actors in movie sequels and the same goes for audio books. The actor connects you to the characters. I found myself focusing on the fact that the voices were different the entire book, and therefore my mind did not dive deep into the story as it did previously.

The Monarchs, the most powerful sacred artists on Cradle, rule with unquestioned authority. They are mysterious and distant, and catching a glimpse of one is privilege enough for a lifetime.
