About this listen

Note to self: Never make a deal with Blapy.

Everything has gone haywire. The world outside is falling to pieces, Ruwen’s gone missing, and Hamma has just accepted the worst quest ever devised by god or man.

Hamma thought she was getting information on Ruwen’s whereabouts, but ended up with a ticking time bomb. If she doesn’t complete the five-part quest line to become the Black Pyramid Priestess within two days, the penalties could have consequences for the entire universe.

Hamma has Lylan to help her, and she’s got 40 new levels under her belt, but to outplay Blapy, she’s going to need even more help. And who better than Blapy’s own monsters?

But these monsters have secrets of their own.

Hamma’s journey into the depths of the Black Pyramid might set everything right, or it might destroy her entire life’s mission, and her love life to boot.

She’s got 48 hours to find out.

Hamma’s Last Prayer is a stand-alone story that follows Hamma as she struggles to deal with Ruwen’s mysterious disappearance between The Sixth Rune and Shadow’s Seventh Step of the Divine Apostasy series.

I think this series is great but this narrator is so bad I returned the book. I can’t even listen to it. She doesn’t pronounce the main characters name right and is over performing. Just not a fan overall. I definitely recommend skipping this book and going right to the last book. Also this is the fist time I didn’t like a book/narrator so much I returned a book.

I really like this series but this one was fell short

A little difficult adjusting to the new narrator. didn't care for some of her pronunciations like Ham-uh vs the original Ha-ma. But that all falls short of the story. Hamma gets carried through her quests by everyone else and continues to blame Ruwen. This book made me dislike Hamma

Not a great companion novel

I had a little trouble at first adjusting to a different narrator. Once past that, the story took over and was a nice progression. I really love this series, so it was a good listen while waiting for book 8.

Nice side story

It feels like Hamma had more confidence in the other books, the voice makes it sounds like hamma is a danty puss, all the stuttering
For dramatic effect just sounds wrong coming from hamma and she kinda makes her sound like a child

Hmm

I have very much enjoyed this series and love both Travis and Andrea as narrators , this entry into the series left me wanting to love it , but admittedly I can't. I do recommend grabbing and listening despite issues that others have identified , as there is great backstory and canon to the overall series.

6.5?

Ham-ma... If you are reading book 6.5, figure out the name of your protagonist from the existing pronunciation in books 1 through 6.

Narrator should listen to existing series.

Voice actor didn’t stay true to the characters but the story made up for it filling in information that you didn’t get in other books

Wish I knew about it before finishing book 9

I don’t always listen to side story’s, but I love the overall series and didn’t want to miss possibly critical information in the 7th book. This is what led me to listen to Hamma’s Last Prayer.

From the start, it was hard to adjust to the new narrator. As I continued listening to the story, I grew more and more annoyed at the narration of Hamma and like many other listeners, grew to dislike her in certain ways. I also wasn’t a fan of completely different accents that well known characters were given and pronunciations of the names.

That being said, at some point I began re-imagining the actual story in my own head voice instead of the narrators voice which is what allowed me to finish this book. I’m convinced the story is really good, but the narrator made Hamma extremely whiny and self pitying which drives me insane. Every time Hamma spoke I just wanted to scream and slap sense into her.

The story itself was beautiful and gave depth to the Black Pyramid as well as the Companion herself, and the monsters living there. While the book had great moments, my favorite part was the last 20 minutes or so. The epilogue was almost more interesting than the entire book before it.

I can’t wait to listen to the next book, and hopefully many more to come! In the future, I’d personally prefer side story’s narrated by Travis instead of other narrators.

I don't care what people say, This book's moral premise is spot on. I loved the way it was taught and the story was great! the narrator did a great job in my opinion. it's hard to come into a series and try to revoice what's been already established. but I thought it worked out! but I'm a fan of Andrea Parsnea as well as Travis Baldree! it worked out great in my opinion. but don't take my word for it find out for yourself! I don't think you'll regret it.

I love what this book teaches

Almost made it seam from a different universe different book. it would have been okay/ good if she was the original performer to hard to get used to the new voices.

should have let Travis perform it.
