Story
It is September 1940 - a year into the war - and as German bombs fall on Britain, fears grow of an impending invasion. Enemy fighter planes blacken the sky around the Epping Forest home of Susan Shepherd and her grandfather, Bertie. After losing her parents to influenza as a child, Susan found comfort in raising homing pigeons with Bertie. All her birds are extraordinary to Susan - loyal, intelligent, beautiful - but none more so than Duchess, who shares a special bond with Susan and an unusual curiosity about the human world.

I so enjoyed this book! A great storyline concerning the little known fact of the British's use of pigeons to spot German troop operations. Great story development. The ending, first-rate!

Just an OK read for me
Reviewed: 05-30-19
Rather a convoluted book as far as I am concerned. Lots of action, but it kept jumping back-and- forth between characters making the story hard to follow. An easy book for me to put down and not pick up again for weeks.

I become a fan of the Harry Bosch series from the Netflix videos, and this was my first Audio book version. I really enjoyed the story and the narrative. I am looking forward to hearing other books from the same series.

This book gives a good background into the complexity of Cyber security, from its beginning to present day activities. As someone who is comfortable around computers, I thought the book was interesting and quite informative.

Story
The incomparable master of the legal thriller takes us deeper into the labyrinth that is the American justice system, always drawing us in with an irresistible hook, pulling the thread of tension tighter and tighter, and then knocking us out with a conclusion that's never "by the book". Maybe that's why, after more than 20 years of consecutive number-one New York Times best sellers, a new novel by America's favorite storyteller is still a major publishing event.

Lots of action legal wise and maybe a bit the top as far as perfect planning goes, still I found that the book was hard to put down.
