Story
The Galahad, a faster-than-light spacecraft, carries 50 scientists and engineers on a mission to prepare Kepler 452b, Earth's nearest habitable neighbor at 1400 light years away. With Earth no longer habitable and the Mars colony slowly failing, they are humanity's best hope. After 10 years in a failed cryogenic bed - body asleep, mind awake - William Chanokh's torture comes to an end as the fog clears, the hatch opens, and his friend and fellow hacker, Tom, greets him...by stabbing a screwdriver into his heart. This is the first time William dies.

Good story and narration but a little too close to reality at this point. Prior to 2020 I would have listened with wild sci-fi abandon. Since, it feels like we are on the edge of destruction more everyday. Sorry for the doom and gloom.

It was worth the wait! One of the best! I hope it’s not that long for the next one. I had to keep blocking out the tv series because after years of reading the full series the cast didn’t fit at all with my picture of the characters.

Being a person who suffers from chronic pain and lifelong depression and anxiety I was worried about listening to this book. I’ve learned to watch my boundaries as far as what is tolerable and what is dangerous. I kept going. It was insightful powerful and profound in many ways. It ended up being helpful and added to the toolbox of surviving through chronic illness and depression.

The first half was repetitive but the second half made up for it. The narrator had a slight monotone and sing-song way. I think a different narrator could have improved the first half. I listened on 1,25 and that helped too. But overall I enjoyed it.

Too bad. Good narration. Good story possibility. But the obvious lecture by forced representation of every social activism was distracting to all the story potential.

Sold as a Mystery /Thriller totally misleading
Reviewed: 04-12-22
This was listed as a Mystery/Thriller. There was nothing mysterious or thrilling about this book. It was annoying and basically a soft porn whiny love, life lesson type story. I would have never purchased this book if it was described and listed properly.

Thank you for your sacrifice, bravery and immeasurable knowledge during this horrifically terrifying piece of history in our country. Thank you for your extraordinary courage and strength to stand up to what happened and is still happening. Thank you for fighting for us at a time when we needed doctors like you to guide us. Hopefully, this book will go down as a true history and documentation of medical facts, political nightmares and media control during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sadly, I couldn't review the story because I couldn't get past the narration to listen to it all. I have listened to other books narrated by Jan Cramer and she was okay. I had to check to see if it was a mistake or maybe multiple narrators. It was unbearable. and I returned the book.
