There were so many twist and turns, it kept me coming back to listen just a little longer! It is the first time in a long time a book is not predictable, the same trope, and had just enough spice to balance out the intrigue! I will be listening to the next book in the series! I hope it is as good as this one.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the male narrator, however, I did like his New Orleans accent! When he was reading And not using his accent, his voice did not match the persona of his character.

The book is set in New Orleans, but there is not a lot of dialogue regarding the great city. It is all about the family and the home and their mysterious happenings.

I wanted to like it. The constant urge to be soooo independent, but then give mixed signals made me just want it to be over.

I finished the first two books in this series and was even more excited for this one base on the story line…Italy, Fashion, Italy…..

The female character is awful. She’s so brass and then she’s a mouse and blind to EVERYTHING happening around her. She’s stupid, but then shows bouts of brilliance,

The story doesn’t make sense at times. Her dad gives her to her aunt at age 3, but she is so close to him but hasn’t made time to visit in 3 years. The stepmom is in the first 3 chapters and then we don’t hear from her in the next 10+ chapters…Ugh.

I’m about 60% through and I’m fast forwarding through chapters just to get to the end of the book.

With all that being said, I’ll still read & listen to this author. But, I wouldn’t pay for this book…EVER.

Did you forget what the main character was like? I had to back up the book to hear if I missed when we transitioned to a different book or different characters.

The narrators were great as usual and the book itself was decent, but I really can’t get over the ending. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can't tell you the last time I wrote a review and better yet the last time I actually cried when I read a book...well it happened today/ What a great and unexpected book. I felt connected to the characters and I felt their pain the way you would if it were you or someone you were close to in real life. I stumbled across this gem and I have to say that I will listen to more from this author as well as the narrators.

I read the reviews and thought I’d give it a try. I’ve listened to the first story and I totally thought I’d return this one if I could. It wasn’t horrible, just boring and characters are undeveloped. The 5 stars reviews are misleading. The characters feel like they are 16 & 17 and not 24 & 30 years old.

I’ll listen to the other two stories in hopes that it gets better.

Really? Awesome? Hilarious? Nope, it was more annoying than funny. Childish? Yup! She makes her sister sound like she had no backbone and would sleep with 9 guys at once if she wasn’t there to save her honor. I could go on, but the story is less than 1/2 way over and I’m irritated that I can’t get my credit back 😢.

Wow! What a great series and I just live that you have brought in all your other amazing characters from your other books!!! I read and listen to hundreds of books and different authors and you are hands down my favorite. You shouldn’t be lumped in with romance because your books are so much more! I cannot wait to see what is next!!!

What made the experience of listening to Combust the most enjoyable?

The edge of emotion that the book kept me on for the entirety of it.

What did you like best about this story?

Andi and Sebastian are the duo that made this story come to life.

Which character – as performed by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York – was your favorite?

All of them. I really can't choose a favorite one - they were all great in their own right.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

How on for the roller-coaster ride of 2018!

Any additional comments?

I listen and read a lot of romance novels and they all tend to be similar. This one stands out because it gives you anxiety, makes you smile, brings tears to your eyes, makes you hold your breathe and it isn't over-whelmed by the steamy sex scenes (which they are...). There is a story that is dying to be told in each turn of the page. Thank you for the experience.

Note to the next listener...take the day off because you won't want to stop listening until the you get to the end.
