Publisher's summary

From New York Times Bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new standalone set in her Everyday Heroes world. Just how hot will firefighter Grady Malone turn up the heat?

Songwriter Dylan McCoy has been burned.

By her boyfriend she found in her bed . . . with someone else.

By the contract she signed that obligates her to work with him until the songs for his new album are complete.

By her agent when she asked Dylan to keep their breakup on the down-low.

When she finds herself in Sunnyville, she refuses to let her new roommate burn her too. Still . . . a rebound has never looked so good.

That’s her first thought when she sees firefighter Grady Malone.
Sexy. Charismatic. Unapologetic. He’s a man who carries his own scars—the ones on his back, the survivor’s guilt on his soul, and the fear in his heart.

When an unexpected visitor puts their roommate status to the test, will their undeniable attraction burn out, or will they both take a chance and play with fire?

Fall in love with the Malone brothers and the small town of Sunnyville. Each book in the Everyday Heroes series is a complete standalone, but might be better enjoyed reading them as a series.

Cuffed (Grant and Emerson)
Combust (Grady and Dylan)
Cockpit (Graham and Sidney
Control (Desi and Reznor). A novella.

I loved this story! Its a slow burn romance that heats up! It's about two broken people that have many emotional obstacles to overcome.
It's about compassion, finding strength after a tragic accident. The story had a bit of humor with the pet pig.
Andi Arndt and Sebastian York always are a great team and a joy to listen to . I was.gifted this audio and offered my honest review

Amazing

Any additional comments?

I absolutely can't say enough about how much I LOVED listening to Combust! This book takes you on an emotional, romantic journey. The narration was perfection! Andi Arndt and Sebastian York brought out the intensity of some really hard moments in the book. I could feel the emotion while listening to it. They just brought these characters to life! I love how Kristy Bromberg wrote about characters that are REAL! Grady and Dylan both have insecurities people in real life have. Their connection was strong from the start! These two battered souls helped guide each other to see what they perceived as flaws as something completely different and were able to begin the healing process.

LOVE this book and the narration!!!

This book is so well done. I love a good fireman book boyfriend! This book has it all, the sexiness and all the feels. The story wouldnt let me put it down. And the narrators are fantastic. Andi puts so much emotion into her work and Sebastian has that deep raspy voice. They both tell a story and never sound like reading which is what makes a great narrator. Love this duo!

Flaming Hot Audio

First of all, I really love K. Bromberg books because she is able to create sweet, steamy and emotional stories. Several of her books were on my 2017 favorite list so I was excited to dive into to her "hero series." Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed in Cuffed (see my review), but it could have been more to do with the female narrator that got me a bit frustrated with her whiny and non-sexy voice. So needless to say, I was not sure about this audio, but I was encouraged since K. Bromberg used two of the best narrators in the industry to bring to life Dylan and Graddy.

As the summary of this book states, Dylan is a famous songwriter for her world famous rocker boyfriend. Her commitment to him and their songs have skyrocketed him to professional stardom. Unfortunately, "Rocker Boyfriend," has a philandering type of personality and when Dylan catches him with another woman in her bed, she packs up and leaves to stay with an old friend of her brother. Since she is under contract with their label to collaborate to create more songs with her ex-boyfriends, she decides it would be best to rent a room from Graddy and hide her whereabouts from her ex and the media.

Graddy is a man's man and has devoted his life to firefighting and has agreed to help his friend out and let Dylan stay at his house. Graddy who was once a big player is immediately intrigued with Dylan and finds his new roomy sexier than sin. Too bad Dylan does not see herself that way because she is constantly portrayed in the media as " the dumpy fat girlfriend." Dylan equally has his own demons after recovering from a tragic fire accident that continues to consume his world.

Can these two put their demons behind them and find a physical and emotional attachment that both are truly craving? This book has many laugh out loud moments, along with deep emotions that can almost make the listener cry as we watch their story unfold. I love both Dylan and Graddy and all the supporting characters in this book.

5 stars for Combust along with 5 starts for Andi Arndt and Sebastian York"s narrations. Ultimately, I can not wait for the third Hero installment from K. Bromberg.

what's there not to love...

Great story...great everything...the only 2 things I would like is she or the one of the girls would have confronted Wes and belittled him and the other I would have like to see them as a couple more. still a great story without those. a lot of books takes us to when they are officially together then we get the epilogue. The narrators were amazing..as always

Wonderful listen

We take our first responders for granted, and don’t put in the thoughts of what they sacrifice. This story brings it to the fore front and there moments that my heart breaks and I shed tears for the reality of the families go through. This bring a whole new respect to them all.
