Excellent story - not the usual Daisy story

Something out of the ordinary - high on Alex and investigative procedures, with a second Daisy adventure running in tandem. Appreciated the author’s exploration of officer vs enlisted issues left over from WWI. Daisy did stumble over a body, but was a few steps removed. Enjoyable, but wish Alex would stop downplaying Daisy’s efforts (at book 20). He should be smarter than that.

Death, danger, and hauntings

This is the first work I’ve read by the author, and I enjoyed it very much. Interesting characters investigate a sudden death in a small English village - whose inhabitants are surprisingly tolerant of ghosts. Excellent period detail - highly recommend. The audiobook made many mundane tasks more pleasant.

From the authors of the best-selling series Cherringham. A young poacher is found shot dead in the woods of a grand estate near Mydworth. A sad accident it would seem. But the boy's mother is convinced it is murder and when Harry and Kat investigate, they find the poacher's life was not as innocent as he made out... Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series "Piece of Cake".

Great story of a clever transcontinental couple who appreciate each other enormously. 1920’s glamour, gin and tonics, upstairs, downstairs, good manners, bad behavior, and a body in the garden - a great start for newlyweds.

Fun, thorough reviews by smart women

I shamelessly listened to 12 book reviews before writing this review - they are very easy to binge on!
To remedy that, Rach and Su know their Heyer inside and out.
Their reviews and critiques make you feel you are part of your own Georgette Heyer book club, and that you should read the books all over again.
If you like Recency romances, their podcast is a must- hear.
My only complaint is that there isn't a comment section for each of the episodes, but that would probably inundate Rach and Su. Very enjoyable.

Spoiler alert! It’s cold and dark here in London so the perfect time to get a little gothic with Cousin Kate. It doesn’t seem to be a universally popular novel, but we tapped into our inner torment and really enjoyed it. We will acknowledge however that this isn’t the most comfortable of reads - what with all the violent deaths and animal cruelty. In this episode we talk about the chilling gothic elements in this story, and how the ratcheting tension is cut through with the refreshingly straight-talking Nidd family, and the absolutely charming love story (with a real cracker of a ...
