Story
Edgar does not cheat in flower shows. He might use a magically enhanced serum, but anyone could do that. It's not his fault the other competitors don’t know magic exists! But when the Ivy House crew goes to the pre-show to support him, it becomes clear that someone should've been watching Edgar much more carefully. What he's done is way worse than overgrown flora. While Jessie is dealing with that, she gets a shock as she discovers photos of her ex with his girlfriend…turned fiancée. And while the flood of emotions can be ignored, the desire to show off Austin on social media is not.

Amazing as Always!

The K.F. Breene & Nicole Poole combo on this series is just done right amazing! The material is written magnificently and narrated in such a way you forget it's ONE person voicing everyone. Every book grabs you, makes you laugh, cry, and cheer for the whole team. I just wish they were longer, but only so I can stay in their world longer. *sigh* 20/10 highly recommended

Me every 30 mins, "You are being such an idiot!"

The author can TRULY weave a story and has a great understanding of the source material. The narrators were excellent at acting and playing all the different characters. That being said, I hated it.
I could NOT handle being that angry every time I listened. I guess that means the AUTHOR IS FANTASTIC at making me feel the struggles of each character to such an extent I couldn't bear it any longer.
Book 1-3 were a test of my strength. Only out of sheer willpower was I able to finish books one and two, just to have book 3 start with the same... struggle. Within 15 minutes, I'd removed the audiobook from my device and started to write this review.
How many times can 2 characters repeat the same EXACT mistakes over and over and over and over and over. You get my point. Learning nothing for the experiences and continually putting themselves through some of the worst hells life has to offer. I had to stop.

Story
The decision has been made. Jessie has taken the magic and all the weird that goes with it. Including wings. There's only one problem - she can't figure out how to access them. Through a series of terrible decisions, Jessie realizes she must ask for help. Gargoyle help. But she could've never predicted who answers her call - he's an excellent flier, incredibly patient, and a good trainer. He's also incredibly handsome. And interested.

Story
Blessed (or cursed, depending on who you ask) with human intelligence, Sir Edgar Allan Kipling, magical talking cat extraordinaire, spends most of his time keeping his human out of trouble. Of course, having a wizard for a human means that trouble is never far away. When Sir Kipling's human goes away for the weekend and leaves him to guard her magical library, things start out quiet. But he soon discovers witches smelling suspiciously of demon magic snooping about, and quiet goes out the window as chaos looms on the horizon.

When fifteen-year-old Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon soon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself. Overnight his simple life is shattered, and, gifted with only an ancient sword, a loyal dragon, and sage advice from an old storyteller, Eragon is soon swept into a dangerous tapestry of magic, glory, and power. Now his choices could save—or destroy—the Empire.

Disappointed

If you could sum up Eragon in three words, what would they be?
A great book
Who was your favorite character and why?
Saphira. It was very interesting to see dragons portrayed in a different, more personal way. Both her and Eragon grew up a lot throughout this book.
Did Gerard Doyle do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Not so much. The narration was very disappointing for my wife and me. We've both read the Inheritance cycle in the past and were looking to experience it again. However, the narrator made Eragon sound so whiny and Saphira sound like Yoda (not like a female such as Rachel Weisz, which is how we hear her in our heads). We couldn't get through it.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
We did, but not in a good way (see previous question).

Story
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Exhausting
Reviewed: 04-04-16
Would you try another book from Paula Hawkins and/or the narrators?
Paula - Probably Not
Narrators - Sure, not ruling them out
What was most disappointing about Paula Hawkins’s story?
The fact that my wife and I were upset at everything every main character did. There's only so many times you can watch a character do something stupid or repeat a mistake before you want to stop listening. The characters even acknowledge, "This is stupid", or "I shouldn't do this", and then do it anyway without variance. We stopped halfway through and just read the Wikipedia summary to put closure on it so we could move on to another audiobook.
Would you listen to another book narrated by the narrators?
Sure, the narrators were fine. Anna's narration was more "robotic" than the other two, but for us that served to differentiate Anna's parts from the other two. If Anna's narrator was the only narrator, it would have been an issue. As one of three, it worked.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Girl on the Train?
Can't answer this question without completely tearing down the book. So many horrible choices, so few pages left.
