Wonderful narration

I enjoyed this tale. It had some very heartwarming moments that I enjoyed very much. Although I just loved the narrator, I believe I enjoyed reading the e book more than listening to the audiobook because there are some parts of the secondary story laid out in complicated detail that I had to keep rewinding to understand. This is a good one if you desire low angst with a sweet story.

Story
On the brink of losing her position as a maid and with no prospects to go on, the offer of a place at Rooksgrave Manor - a house of ill and unusual repute - sounds like a perfect fit for a young woman with Esther’s inclinations. Even better, the invitation comes by the hand of the handsome Dr. Underwood, a delicate gentleman with a ferocious alter ego who knows exactly what he wants from Esther. Upon arrival, the men and the daily decadence of the manor feel too good to be true for a girl of Esther’s station.

Vivian is a jilted bride who was going to marry her best friend for (as yet) unknown reasons. When the bridegroom doesn't show up, his father proposes marriage to Vivian and our story begins.
I had mixed feelings about the book. The writing is great with wonderful dialog and nicely steamy scenes.
The narration is great! I love the dual narration ❤️.
The storyline was good, but a bit too angsty for me. He was all "'I need to win her at all costs' but then 'I'm not good enough for her'" and she was "I'm desperate to get him back but once I do, I need space". Overall, I think if you like steamy contemporary romance with miscommunication, you'll like this one but I don't feel like it is a standout book that will stick with you for years.
Bottom line: It's nicely enjoyable; great narration.

I am a fan of this genre but this is the first book I've read by this author. The h was unlikable at the start and I was concerned that she would be not be redeemable but by the end, I was rooting for her.
This was a very enjoyable novella and I will read more from this author. narration was great and added to the story. I'm sure I'll listen to this again. would recommend for anyone who appreciates books with adult content.

JAFF fans are always requesting variations where there is conflict that doesn't evolve ODC. This is a great example of that. This book begins after the The Wickhams marry but before ODC marry. The road for D & E isn't completely easy but it is not because of mistrust between the 2 of them. This is a story of intrigue and and mystery. The answer to the mystery has many layers and not easily solved in the first part of the book. I read this book before listening and I think I preferred reading it over listening for 2 reasons: my brain tends to wander to try and figure out clues when a story is a mystery so I find I have to rewind frequently; and also I didn't love the narrator for female voices. The narrator brings interest to the phrasing and influence of words which I found pleasing at first but then found curious toward the end of the book (for example, how every character said the word "Yes" in a rushed, perhaps breathless, sort of way).
Overall, I really enjoyed this audiobook. It kept my interest despite having read it before and I sought out opportunities for listening that were not just with my commute. I enjoyed the affection expressed between ODC. It was pleasing that even though they had trials to go through they always trusted and loved each other.

Although this story is long, it has romance, adventure, mystery and drama to keep you listening for more. Fantastic narration. Great storyline. I believe you have to 'suspend your disbelief' for some plot points but isn't that what makes for great fiction? If you are looking for a good long story that takes Elizabeth and Darcy on an adventure together, this book will meet your needs. Recommended.

I love Lola and her millionaires.
We first meet Lola in the previous Sweetverse - Baby + Late Night Howlers. She grabbed my attention there and made me want to know more about her. In that book she seemed like a questionable friend at first, but with Lola and the Millionaires we we allowed to learn more about Lola. Her thoughts and feelings; her hopes and dreams. Lola has a wonderful storyline. It keeps you engaged throughout and it left me craving every scene, every detail. The character development is complete and distinct and even tho there are multiple love interests (RH), they each have a full, recognizable personality and purpose in the story.
This book is the first of a 2 part series and you must go in knowing that you have to read both to have any book closure.

Story
Is not the very meaning of love that it surpasses every objection against it? Jilted. Never did Mr. Darcy imagine it could happen to him. But it has, and by Elizabeth Bennet, the woman who first hated and rejected him but then came to love him - he believed - and agree to be his wife. Alas, it is a short-lived, ill-fated romance that ends nearly as soon as it has begun. No reason is given. More than a year since he last saw her - a year of anger, confusion, and despair - he receives an invitation from the Bingleys to a house party at Netherfield.
