There have been several other reviewers who have previously mentioned this, but I am here to second their thoughts. Dick Hill simply is Jack Reacher and they should not bother having anybody else voice these stories for as long as both he and the author are around.

Between the interesting characters, the I can't put it down storyline, and the excellent narration of Scott Brick this second installment in the Orphan X Series is another home run!

I'll be honest, I had a hard time getting into this story from the beginning.. The narrators delivery was somewhat dry and I almost felt like I was listening to the reading of a technical document or the owners manual of an electron microscope. However, once the story finally got up to speed I learned to appreciate both the storyline and the narrators "tell it like it is" style. Recommended!

Dean Koontz as an author is a conundrum for me. On the one hand I love his story and character development, and detailed settings are strong points with him as a writer However, I know of few authors who use as much verbiage and descriptive metaphor in their writing as Koontz does. I find myself sometimes wondering how much more enjoyable his books would be if he would just eliminate all of the unnecessary wording...

I enjoyed this story quite a bit. And even though in spots it seemed to drag on, the suspenseful passages and great ending made for a worthwhile listen. However, the choice of Dennis Quaid as the main narrator was a misstep in my opinion and one that causes the overall enjoyment of the book to suffer a fair amount. his overly raspy delivery sometimes made it hard to understand and he is not near as polished as some of the other narrators that I felt would have been a much better choice. all in all it's a worthwhile listen but I would love to go back and hear the story red with more listenable voices.

I don't know what rock I've been living underneath but until the television show American Gods was released I was completely unaware of this excellent book. There's not much to say about it that hasn't already been said, but I completely enjoyed the story itself as well as the production of this 10th anniversary complete cast recording. Highly recommended, even for those who read or listened to the original publication.

This was my first introduction into the author and it definitely won't be the last novel I read of his. The storyline and character development were somewhat slow to begin with but if you can stick with it you will be rewarded with a very interesting and exciting story. Highly recommended!!
