Story
In June 1993, a group of young guerilla filmmakers spent four weeks making Horror Movie, a notorious, disturbing, art-house horror flick. The weird part? Only three of the film’s scenes were ever released to the public, but Horror Movie has nevertheless grown a rabid fanbase. Three decades later, Hollywood is pushing for a big budget reboot.

Great overall.
Story could have been weirder it was very Texas Chainsaw/Friday13th type horror rather than like cursed object warping reality.... maybe a lil depending on how you view the story. Some of the performances of the table read parts with the mistakes was a bit much IMO but I get it lol

Not bad for short SciFi/Horror.

Performance is great. Story is fairly middle of road. Lots of similarities to the Event Horizon movie but I don't mind more stories in the X investigates Black Hole or Rescue type stories.
I feel it could have been expanded on more and the sense of time could have been shown better for the reader to get a better sense of what they were experiencing.
Overall nothing terribly new, but good for a commute!

Story
Wounds is a confounding, strange, and utterly entrancing collection of six stories, including one new novella from Shirley Jackson Award-winning author Nathan Ballingrud. From the eerie dread descending upon a New Orleans dive bartender after a cell phone is left behind in a rollicking bar fight in The Visible Filth to the search for the map of hell in “The Butcher’s Table”, Ballingrud’s beautifully crafted stories are riveting in their quietly terrifying depictions of the murky line between the known and the unknown.

Story
The Free Navy -- a violent group of Belters in black-market military ships -- has crippled the Earth and begun a campaign of piracy and violence among the outer planets. The colony ships heading for the thousand new worlds on the far side of the alien ring gates are easy prey, and no single navy remains strong enough to protect them.

Not terrible

it wasn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be, it just didn't have enough Amos which is why everyone is complaining. Also I feel like it cuts away from the characters about to enter an intense scene and lots of retrospect of others.
In context of the series I can see this books place but wished it had a lot more ramp. It really felt like it was a part 2 of Nemesis Games and could have been consolidated and expanded on the rest of where the series is going.

Story
The fifth book in the NYT best-selling Expanse series, Nemesis Games drives the crew of the Rocinante apart, and as they struggle to survive, the inner planets fall victim to an enemy's catastrophic plan. A thousand worlds have opened, and the greatest land rush in human history has begun. As wave after wave of colonists leave, the power structures of the old solar system begin to buckle. Ships are disappearing without a trace. Private armies are being secretly formed. The sole remaining protomolecule sample is stolen.

Interesting at least

Interesting idea. Was hoping for more of a Stargate SG1 vibe with expeditions. Could have had a bit more science intrigue as well. While book 2 and 3 touched more on that it just wasn't enough. I feel like it had a bit too many bits that never panned out fully.
I'd recommend it still for the interesting direction it went but ultimately it was okay.
