Story
Douglas Murray, #1 international bestselling author and renowned cultural commentator, confronts arguably the most pressing question of our time: Why are Western supporters of Palestine unwittingly aligning with an evil empire? The campus left frames the violent hostilities as white colonialists committing genocide. Yet only a third of Israelis are Ashkenazi Jews of European ancestry. Murray argues that the conflict is not a simple tale of oppressor versus oppressed, but a clash between a thriving multi-racial democracy and a death cult bent on its destruction.

Sad
Reviewed: 06-15-25
I've read most of your books. This book was hard to get through. Not to say it wasn't written beautifully and accurately, but it was incredibly sad and depressing. It just makes me more pissed off at all the protesting and ignorance. I am not the person who should be reading this, Because I've stood firm with Isreal and the Jewish community all my life. I love and respect them.
The Gazans, Iranians, and the majority of all islamists should read this book. This world is doomed if reformation never comes to Muslims.
Great job Douglas and God Bless!

Throughout these books, Follett has followed the fortunes of five intertwined families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they make their way through the twentieth century. Now they come to one of the most tumultuous eras of all: the enormous social, political, and economic turmoil of the 1960s through the 1980s, from civil rights, assassinations, mass political movements and Vietnam to the Berlin Wall, the Cuban Missile Crisis, presidential impeachment, revolution - and rock and roll.

Slightly woke and bias
Reviewed: 04-22-25
I could barely get through this one. I love KF writing but I can see where his politics lay. I detest being lectured to and the century trilogy was exactly that. Writing and performance were top notch. I can definitely tell the difference between his older published books vs his newest. Pretty depressing for me because I just got done reading 7 of his books in a row. Now I'm going to have to steer clear from his writing now, at least for a while anyways.

Alfred of Wessex has survived the Danish invasions, but though he now has an uneasy truce with his enemies, fresh Viking ships are arriving to plunder and enslave the Saxons. Those Vikings must be defeated, and Alfred's first move is to deny them their fortress on the Thames, the decayed Roman city of London. His weapon is Uhtred, a warrior of formidable reputation. But neither Alfred's wisdom, not Uhtred's prowess, might be enough to save Wessex when a Viking lord captures a prize of inestimable value.

I was so excited to read this book. I got the hype from tik tok and was disappointed to learn it is basically an over done Hunger Games Troup. It is done in first person so the view points were limited. I feel asleep to the action and couldn't feel for the characters. I will pass on reading the series.
