Cute Short Story !

I enjoyed this love at first sight short story for a quick, but enjoyable retelling of Beauty and the Beast. My problem is with the narration which is done by AI. It's a female voice with no difference between when it's reading the male's POV and the female POV. I've listened to many books narrated by a human female and she can slightly deepen her voice, so the difference can be heard. Unfortunately, with the computers reading the story it's not the same as listening to a human tell the story.

I don't believe in love. But then again, up until a week or so ago, I didn't believe in aliens either. And yet here I am having been abducted, stranded on a jungle planet, and now surrounded by a tribe of huge, protective aliens with wings and tails. At least these are the good guys. Their leader, Rynn, is convinced I'm the reason the skin on his chest is lit up like a Christmas tree, particularly the area directly above his heart. But that's just some weird alien biochemical reaction. Just like all supposed 'love', right?

Very Disappointed

Very disappointed in this book. There is no HEA, so be prepared. The narrator has a good reading voice, but they speed up at certain times like they just wanted to get done with it too. I did like the main characters but the ending ruined the entire book. Not going to purchase any more from this series.

**Warning**
I feel like this book wasn’t really about Marcus & Phoebe as a couple, which I didn’t feel like we got any of in the All Souls Trilogy. This book was 15 hours & 14 of it was all about Marcus’ history & Phoebe becoming a vampire. With a Matthew & Diana sub-storyline, which afterwards I feel like I lost a lot of respect I had for Matthew’s character. The last hour of the book the the couple is permitted to see each other, which they had been forced to be separated thru the entire book. It didn’t allow the reader to understand this great love these two people are suppose to have for each other. The final problem I had with this book was the lack of interest. There was nothing happening in this book that made me want to keep listening. I found the entire book boring & couldn’t wait till it ended. I loved the original trilogy & was hoping this would at least equal them, but I was severely disappointed. All I can do is hope the next book it better.
