Story
Mary Lennox starts her life as an unhappy victim of circumstance. After the loss of her parents, she moves to rural Yorkshire to live with a distant uncle where she resents the wildness of the countryside. At first, she struggles to find a place in this new existence. Although unsure about her surroundings and its occupants, through the gentle guidance of the maid she gradually becomes interested in the story of Mrs Craven, who apparently used to spend her time in a garden at the house, the key to which has vanished.

Story
Wharton's most erotic and lyrical novel, Summer explores a daring theme for 1917, a woman's awakening to her sexuality. Eighteen-year-old Charity Royall lives in the small town of North Dormer, ignorant of desire until the arrival of architect Lucius Harney. Like the succulent summer landscape in the Berkshires around them, Charity's romance is lush and picturesque, but its consequences are harsh and real.

interesting take. couldn't wait to see how it all came back to the original.
at first I couldn't stand Glinda I thought she was horrible...like a Victorian socialite. rude and self involved.. by the end I wanted to beat Alfiba with her broom.. SHE was rude and self involved and obnoxious and self righteous.
love how it connected to the.movie and the back story of the Lion and tin man... I wonder how they made it into a musical? guess thats next!

Story
It began in a women's club in London on a February afternoon. A discreet advertisement in The Times, addressed to "Those who Appreciate Wistaria and Sunshine..." lures four very different women away from the dismal British weather to San Salvatore, a castle high above a bay on the sunny Italian Riviera. There, the Mediterranean spirit stirs the souls of Mrs Arbuthnot, Mrs Wilkins, Lady Caroline Dester, and Mrs Fisher, and remarkable changes occur.

I would love to go there with my love... without lady caroline... the performace was lovely and soft. like it should be.

Story
Golden Globe-winning actor Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under) performs Truman Capote's masterstroke about a young writer's charmed fascination with his unorthodox neighbor, the "American geisha" Holly Golightly. Holly - a World War II-era society girl in her late teens - survives via socialization, attending parties and restaurants with men from the wealthy upper class who also provide her with money and expensive gifts. Over the course of the novella, the seemingly shallow Holly slowly opens up to the curious protagonist.

Marvelous

Michael C. Halls voice is deep and dark as we know from dexter... but in this book he portrayed the characters perfectly. He didn't even sound like a man when portraying Holly go lightly. And his transition was seamless. Great story. Quick. Sad and depressing.. but also hopeful and dreamy... and true. Everyone knows how it feels to be inbetween dreams, scared and unsure of where to go next.

never read it before. such a sweet book. McAdams does not change her voice much for different characters, but it doesn't seem necessary for a book like this. (unlike books such as Harry Potter or Alice in wonderland.) she plays anne so wonderfully
