Story
When the vital forge world of Orestes comes under attack by a legion of Chaos Titans, the planet is forced to appeal for help. The Titans of Legio Invicta, although fresh from combat and in desperate need of refit and repair, respond, committing their own force of war engines to the battle. As the god-machines stride to war, the world trembles, for the devastation they unleash could destroy the very world they have pledged to save.

Dan Abnett net did an amazing job with this book. he makes the mechanicus seem relatable and humanizes them in a way that I did not expect, and no one has ever done engine war as a beautifully or perfectly as was done in this book. Thank you Dan Abnett. Praise be to the Omnissiah.

Story
A century after his recovery of the alien Necroteuch, Gregor Eisenhorn is one of the Imperial Inquisition's most celebrated agents. But when a face from his past returns to haunt him, and he is implicated in a great tragedy that devastates the world of Thracian Primaris, Eisenhorn's universe crumbles around him. The daemon Cherubael is back, and seeks to bring the inquisitor to ruin - either by his death, or by turning him to the service of the Dark Gods.

This is, perhaps, my favorite of the Eisenhorn trilogy. Exciting and well written with dynamic and captivating characters. Dan Abbnet is truly a master of science fiction.

Story
The Cadian Gate is broken, and the Imperium is riven in two. The might of the Traitor Legions, kept shackled for millennia behind walls of iron and sorcery, has been unleashed on a darkening galaxy. Among those seeking vengeance on the Corpse Emperor’s faltering realm are the Death Guard, once proud crusaders of the Legiones Astartes, now debased creatures of terror and contagion.

Chris Rice did an excellent job of portraying this legion, they're fascinating in that just despite their horrifying and demonic nature they are quite pleasant, kind and caring of those in their charge and those to whom they spread nurgle's "gifts." The author created interesting and likable characters and a fascinating storyline. Well done.
