About this listen

The Cadian Gate is broken, and the Imperium is riven in two. The might of the Traitor Legions, kept shackled for millennia behind walls of iron and sorcery, has been unleashed on a darkening galaxy. Among those seeking vengeance on the Corpse Emperor’s faltering realm are the Death Guard, once proud crusaders of the Legiones Astartes, now debased creatures of terror and contagion.

Mighty warbands carve bloody paths through the void, answering their lord primarch’s call to war. And yet for all their dread might in arms, there is no escape from the vicious legacies of the past, ones that will pursue them from the ruined daemon-worlds of the Eye of Terror and out into the smouldering wastes of the Imperium Nihilus.

Banks does a phenomenon job performing this. The guy is great. The story itself was pretty good. Kept me interested and even concerned for the well being of the Lords of Silence.

This book makes you root for these guys in ways I never thought I would. The look into the lives of the unbroken is phenomenal. And the shear detail in this is incredibly. Parts of this story made me want to gag with how good the details are. They truly paint an excellent picture.
The part I didn’t really care for was, it can be a bit confusing on when it jumps from past to present. But other than that, phenomenal listen and a wonderful performance. Would recommend you get this one ASAP.

Outstanding in almost every aspect

The story was great he embodied the Servants of nurgle exactly how I would imagine. You almost feel as if you are on the ship with the lords of silence. The narration of the book was outstanding. With out a doubt worth the buy!!

Papa Nurgle is pleased!

Excellent reading with a solid story.

The author gives a very unique perspective of the Death Guard, showing them as not mindless zombies, but as beings with their own motivations.

Excellent!

This novel really captures the essence of why The Deathguard fell to Chaos. And why for some of them, that is not such a bad thing.

All gratitude to the Great Grandfather.

I very much so enjoyed this book. I don’t enjoy this bloody survey however, making me write 15 words.

Lords of Solence now ranks as one of my favorite 40K books. The characters and plot were stirring and kept my interest. I loved getting a perspective from the Death Guard’s view and the battles were very descriptive.

The voice characterization was great and the narrative was captivating
