The story was good, the narration was bad
Reviewed: 05-16-25
The virtual voice narrative was not good. It was hard to figure out the change in character talking, because the voice never changed its monotone. It did not add to the story, and I ended up reading the story quickly to get through it so that I would not have to listen to the virtual voice anymore.

Austin Rising's various character voices added much enjoyment for this story. I liked the narration of this book so much, that even though I read to the ending, I went back and listened to it too. Story was very good, with twist to the ending. Loved it!

Stubbornness makes it so hard to ask for forgiveness
Reviewed: 06-09-24
The narrations were amazing. They told the story with just the right flow that allowed for the emotions of the characters to come forth and be realized. I felt the frustration with each turn of events that drew out the final heartbreaking actions that eventually brought all the secrets to light. I liked this story alot, and recommend it to anyone seaking forgiveness of themselves for pass mistakes and hope for a future of renewal.

This storyline is great, but the AI voice was difficult to listen to. There is no change in tone from one character to the next, and no warning when there is a change in location or day at the end of a chapter.

Story
Although Scott Carey doesn’t look any different, he’s been steadily losing weight. There are a couple of other odd things, too. He weighs the same in his clothes and out of them, no matter how heavy they are. Scott doesn’t want to be poked and prodded. He mostly just wants someone else to know, and he trusts Doctor Bob Ellis. In the small town of Castle Rock, the setting of many of King’s most iconic stories, Scott is engaged in a low-grade - but escalating - battle with the lesbians next door whose dog regularly drops his business on Scott’s lawn. One of the women is friendly; the other, cold as ice.

Loved the visual descriptions of the Tuscany background! Very enjoyable listen and read. Characters were interesting and the naritation really helped me to visualize each character as they were speaking. Story was very good, it kept me hooked to tune in for what was going to happen next for Olivia, to see her grow stronger and relying on her heart to see the signs to take her to the next steps in her journey towards independence. I look forward to more of her story.
