Story
LAPD cop Scott James is not doing so well, not since a shocking nighttime assault by unidentified men killed his partner, Stephanie, nearly killed him, and left him enraged, ashamed, and ready to explode. He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. They are each other’s last chance.

Entertaining read & a story with original touches

I'm a fan of police / crime fiction (and love dogs) so for me this was a really fresh, entertaining and often emotive story with plenty of gripping moments. The narrator was superb too, changing accent and tone of voice for each character.

Story
In L.A., Cassie Black is another beautiful woman in a Porsche: except Cassie just did six years in prison and still has "outlaw juice" flowing in her veins. Now Cassie is returning to her old profession, taking down a money man in Vegas. But the perfect heist goes very wrong, and suddenly Cassie is on the run - with a near-psychotic Vegas "fixer" killing everyone who knew about the job.

Very enjoyable and entertaining read

Maybe not my favourite Connelly book, but then, I'm a hardcore Bosch fan. The story was good, lots of twists, some a bit predictable and others a bit crammed in at the end. But genuine emotion present and characters were convincing. Great drivetime entertainment during my a commute.

Story
In Los Angeles in 1988, a 16-year-old girl disappeared from her home and was later found dead of a gunshot wound to the chest. The death appeared at first to be a suicide, but some of the evidence contradicted that scenario, and detectives came to believe this was in fact a murder. Despite a by-the-book investigation, no one was ever charged.

This story is one of my Harry Bosch favourites

I wasn't all that keen on the change in style of the last two books, until I got into them (and now I miss the first person account quite a bit!). But this book gets back to the procedural thriller style and Harry Bosch as I'd grown to like him. And brilliant narration. Really enjoyed this one.

Story
Up until senior year, Greg has maintained total social invisibility. He only has one friend, Earl, and together they spend their time - when not playing video games and avoiding Earl's terrifying brothers - making movies, their own versions of Coppola and Herzog cult classics. Greg would be the first one to tell you his movies are f*@$ing terrible, but he and Earl don't make them for other people. Until Rachel.

Couldn't finish it

Either a work of genius that I failed to get... or just a really boring, pointless book. This is the first time I've left a book unfinished on Audible, but just couldn't be bothered to listen until the end.

Story
If Nick Stone wasn't so desperate for his American citizenship, he probably wouldn't have agreed to do this one last job with the CIA. But Carrie is over there and he simply can't refuse the chance of a new life with the woman he loves. The job seems simple enough - and he is certainly skilled enough. Infiltrate the hostile, violent republic of Algeria, kill a money-laundering businessman, and bring back his severed head.

First time listened to an Andy Mcnab novel instead of reading it, and really enjoyed both the story and the performance
