Story
Alex finds herself on the shore of a distant place - a world unfamiliar. A world of fantasy and magic. A world that is a game. NPCs and players all insist she is an NPC, a part of the world. A part of the code of the game. A part of the fantasy to entertain the players. She rejects the idea, for her memories can't just be lies. Could they? Alex sets out to establish herself in the sandbox fantasy world, to find her identity, and to weather the storm between the coming players and the inhabitants of the new world.

Amazing story
Reviewed: 01-13-20
I loved the story, and the narrator does a fantastic job of making the characters come alive. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the antics, and nearly in tears when certain characters died. The author does a great job of pulling you into the world and rooting for the NPC's to win.
The recording was well spoken, and I did love the animation of the narrator, but there were a lot of repeated lines in the audio format. Maybe 1%, but it was noticeable, especially since I was following along with the text while on a treadmill to keep my mind off the workout. Otherwise very enjoyable.

Story
My name's Cesar Hawke. I'm a witch working for a division of the government you've never heard about. The world's not what everyone thinks it is - unless you think that our world's a pawn in a game of chess between Heaven and Hell, and riddled with as much magic and wonder as it is with evil. In that case, the world is exactly what you think. My place of employment - the Office of Preternatural Affairs - takes a modern approach to an ages-old problem.

Would you listen to Preternatural Affairs, Books 1-3 again? Why?
I don't often re-listen to anything, but I did enjoy this book quite a lot.
Any additional comments?
Great series, glad I was able to get both the trilogy in ebook and audio so I could switch back and forth, and listen/read at need. Loved that it was packaged together, not many books come that way in audio form. Also loved the story.

Dungeon Crawl at it's best
Reviewed: 12-20-17
Would you consider the audio edition of Dungeon Crawl to be better than the print version?
No, the print version stat sections were easier to digest then the audio version, but I loved being able to go back and forth while commuting.
What did you like best about this story?
The main character is trying to help, and yet can't stop being who he is. Love it. And it's such an accurate version of a level grind.
Have you listened to any of Doug Tisdale Jr.’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
A few times burst out laughing. A lot of edge of my seat reading to see what happened.
Any additional comments?
The mystery behind the virtual world is what will keep me coming back for more.

Story
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Scientifically captivating.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Martian to be better than the print version?
In many ways, yes. The performance was really well done. I did need the print edition to get some of the sections which are basically the performer reading out lists of letters, but that is only a couple of very short sections.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Martian?
The very first line, which is what made me want to listen to the book in the first place.
Which character – as performed by R. C. Bray – was your favorite?
Watney.... It's all about him, after all, and he's just such a compelling character. I really wanted to know what happened to him, and if he lived or died.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I wasn't able to, but dang it I tried.
Any additional comments?
Absolutely wonderful book, even if you watched the movie it's still worth a listen. So much was left out of the movie.

Story
Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.
