fun story. garbage voice.
Reviewed: 07-26-24
Honestly virtual voice is not going to replace a good reader. There was times the voice was squelchy and screechy or scratchy and sounded like there was something wrong with the electronics. No tone, inflection or variation so I literally passed out a few times while listening. Story could use a good reader with a UK accent. . Otherwise I think I'd of had more fun reading the actual text. The absolue worst part was the virtual voice reading the index. A reader wouldn't of toutured me like that. If anyone wants a virtual voice to drone on and make pauses in unnatural places I could of gone to youtube but I stuck around for the story. Performance ruined it.

Story
The world has been saved; life is beautiful and everyone loves and appreciates the hero, even though they have put him in some godforsaken place. To keep him safe, or so they say.... But it's too boring there! Only at first glance, however, because entertainment can be found anywhere and the street phase of the world tournament, Battle of the Champions, is just the right thing to pass the time, especially if some divine gifts are taken into consideration, which, regardless of his unique strategic and tactical talent, seriously complicate his life.

just some pokemon go

disappointing compared to the first two. became just some pokemon go stuff. honestly though this mc has been painful the whole series. misinterpreting reactions is laughable. sorry dudes a shudder from a lady you sit next to is not pleasure. it's disgust. i feel like the mc is a collection of mildly toxic males in gaming pulled from redit who all cant unerstand social situations and poured into one guy like a joke. it was the only way i could get through the other two was i thought this was satire. so cringe worthy.

weird, disturbing and sad
Reviewed: 10-19-21
this was a difficult story to get through and keep going. narrator did a great job but i think maybe audiable needs some new ratings for what age level this story was for. it tries to come off as a magical tale of some girl overcoming some cruelty using magic. its not. its the tragic tale of a girl who separated herself from reality to cope. she finds herself happy in complete detachment from miserable circumstances and it's a weird sad tale of serious mental illness and murder... really deeply confused by others reviews of this and thinking maybe they too were looking for the same escape here. the magic here is only in the mind of a girl who literally killed her whole family. the girl is not a child but 18 and has some pretty disconcerting and destructive behavior. the towns people are also pretty terrible too. it ends on a sad note of them staying in a burned house. they literally own 2 houses on the property but decided to stay living in the burned home to hide from the world

so ive read the complete trilogy published so far. its not bad writing and im looking forward to seeing this story grow. im curious to see what he does with the bit the mentioned in the last part. itd be nice to tie it in with the disappearance of gods and magic and some folk lore in the future. least thats what im hoping. itd also be nice to see jason move past that huge defense mechanism too while hes home and maybe someplace hes not overwhelmed. looking forward to seeing whats next :)

Story
Meet Threadbare. He is 12 inches tall, full of fluff, and really, really bad at being a hero. Magically animated and discarded by his maker as a failed experiment, he is saved by a little girl. But she's got problems of her own, and he might not be able to help her. Fortunately for the little golem, he's quick to find allies, learn skills, gain levels, and survive horrible predicaments. Which is good, because his creator has a whole lot of enemies …

this is litrpg but i have to admit it was great. the author did an excellent job at not making the stats that popped up really annoying and it blended well and kept the story moving without hurting the story like a lot of lit rpgs do. i wasn't forced to sigh or roll my eyes even onve while the narrator rattled off stats. the story was good and cute. it even managed to capture a little essence of terry pratchet and winnie the pooh. i hope the rest of the series is just as good

some reviews mentioned sisterhood. whoever even slightly thought this was about sisterhood should be in serious therapy and a strong talking to. the story is poorly paced and structured and im surprised it was published. really this story is about mental abuse and toxic narcissistic family. one sister is the victim of abuse and the other is your classic evil narcissist and abuser. the worst kinds of relationships and everything is just awkward and horrible. the concept is good but the writing needs major work.

author needs help
Reviewed: 11-14-20
author needs the help of other more veteran and experienced writers badly. maybe some creative writing classes or watch some ted talks. this was rough to slog through. the opening chapters were good enough but holy hell the author needs to consider some common basic wisdom about writing. "does this need to be here to advance the story?" good beginning, decent end but a lot of monologued pointless mechanics spelled out in this book that go on and on and on and on. .... i will say that the narrator is excellent in spite of the needless parts that went on far far faaaar too long. wonderful performance.
