Man this series is so good!! I wish there more man! It’s such a great dark fantasy, like genuinely the mc really teeters the line between a villain and a hero, I love it!!

Story
Becoming a knockoff Dracula in tight leather pants was never part of Vincent’s plans. Neither was being summoned to another world by a cult of vampire wannabes. But both happened. Now, Vincent’s left to pick up the tattered pieces of his humanity as he tries to grow strong enough to keep his family safe. The world is filled with nightmares, and the looming threat of losing his soul stands between his goal and his reality, so it’s not like it will be too hard or anything. Hell should tremble. A good man is going to war.

This is by far one of the best liteRPG fantasy stories I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening too! It’s such a shame it took so long for the second audiobook to come out because I could easily see this being one of audible top books!!!

He was promised a life of wandering his new home and having adventures, but things got out of hand pretty quickly. He met with kings and gods, fought interdimensional cults, and got in a knife fight with the guy who creates universes. He didn't win. What he'd never done was roam around, having nice, sensible adventures. He hadn't even seen the hometown of his friends, and that had been the first destination on his list.

Having survived their journey into the Dark Heart, Arthur and his dragon, Brixaby, have a new goal: complete their Legendary card sets. Unfortunately, the next Legendary card is locked away in Blood Moon, a hive with a reputation for chaos, lawlessness, scourgling eruptions, and—rumor has it—dedicated dragon hunters. Still, Arthur and his retinue feel they have little to fear. Then again, they also don't have much knowledge of what actually lies ahead.

Good but it feels like I’ve been cheated…
Reviewed: 04-06-25
This book for the most part is good but…the length of it kinda of irks me. This series has easily become one of my favorites, that being I feel like the author has made this book for the sake of increasing the number count in the series. 11hrs is gut wrenchingly short, with not much major progression happening to top it off. This book while having great story beats in some moments and as always stellar narration, is kinda of a step down overall in my opinion. I’m not asking for a 20+ hour runtime, I only want it so the gang makes proper progression in general. Book 2’s formula was where in my opinion the story telling was at its peak! This book while decent hasn’t met those standards…

Where power is measured in cards, Arthur stands among the elite as a Legendary card wielder now forever linked to a frighteningly powerful dragon. Or Brixaby will be once he grows from the size of a parrot. Before that can happen, a chance encounter whisks Arthur and Brixaby away to a place they never thought possible: A new dragon hive outside the kingdom. This Free Hive doesn't suffer from the scourge that's infected the rest of the planet. It's a place where crafting using card powers is king.

The series is by far amazing and I loved this book up until that final battle arc some of the decisions made by the main character idiotic but make sense with his character. It’s just frustrating to see this man not think on some his actions and their consequences. Overall great book!

Arthur lives with his father, a fallen but proud former noble, in Border Village #49, along with the other good folks condemned to toil in service to the Baron. But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. Invaluable, too, to a young man of spellcasting ambitions.

I was really iffy with the way this series started out with all the constant explicit scenes but man it really doesn’t matter with how well the world and story has progressed! The path to power in the series is cool as hell! I never thought I would see such great use of magical concepts like this series has done. Can’t wait for the next book.
